I heard that someone has done one of these conversions. Does anyone have any info on the spec of the head and possibly a photo of one (head). There are a few head upgrades from the old 5 port. All are ridiculously expensive, someone bodged a BMW K1000 bike head on but the Corsa 16V head sounds like the ticket. I need to see one of these.

No, I'm interested in just the 1.2 16V head. More of a matter of academic interest. You have to with the whole front end and the car ends up looking stupid with wheels stuck out a mile with these suzuki/honda/vauxhall conversions.

Ive seen Honda Conversions where the Mini looks pretty much as std.

True, the Vauxhall conversion does mean lengthening the car, which would involve a lot of work.

I think I recently saw one that was fitted to a normal shape mini, and not the ugly clubman, which was nice to see.

Do a search for the bore spacing dims of the 1.2, then compare to the mini...

I'm sure that you'll find they don't line up however.
I've heard stories of punto heads, SEAT heads and other such 'rumours' but the only one i know of that is somethign like is the head from some BMW motorbike - a K100.

Even this is far from a straight swap - you'd better be a good engineer if you want this to work properly.

The only subframe that gets a decent, modern engine in an un-extended round-nose is the one from www.allspeed.co.uk , using the 100hp C16SE 1600, 8v vauxhall lump from the mk3 astra. The Vtec ones don't fit in a std length RHD round-nose i believe...

you can stick a honda vtec into a clumbman with no bodywork mods at all (i think). why would you want to run the A seiers wit ha Vauxhall head? why not just run the Vauxhall unit?

Chris.

I believe you struggle to get the Vtec into a standard length front end on a roundnose, as the diff housing fouls the steering rack, or rather the large section of the rack where the pinion is... On LHD minis, the situation is a little better - but not by a huge amount.
It probably can be done though - especially as a few have squeezed the big XE lump under a non-extended roundnose

Just curious about what "tuning" parts you could poach off other vehicles. The K head doesn't have big enough valves from what I can see. There must be something which can be bodged on. Not that I'm going to do it, just curious about what is possible.
