as with the renault clio, i reckon you could build a V6 front engined ford fiesta, but would a V8 squeeze in under a bulged bonnet cover?

an if you tried a V10 or V12, surely they'd have to be mounted behind the front seats?

how about it?

Someone managed to squeeze an RV8 into a mini, and make it FWD so, yes I would say it is possible.

sounds like a plan to me, add a turbo on either side you got urself about 400+bhp yeah sounds good go for it would be better to go rear wheel tho even though you got to bodge your self a transmission turret for the prop.. maybe some nitrous........ lol

Hmm you will have to cut out all of the bulkhead and re shape fabricate new, and extend the front wings by around 100mm but do not quote me on this.......

I've seen a TVR Rover V8 in a red mk3 fiesta at Shakespeare county raceway once - longtitudinally mounted driving the rear wheels - went like poo of a shovel IIRC

Parked next to it was a grey MK3 escort with the same engine/drivetrain config...

Hows about a 300bhp Cosworth RWD Festa?

Got one here if you'd like a look, I'll take some piccys later.

Thunder Racers on Dicovery channel did some V8 engined cars, the Micra springs to mind. I was in the next series building the Pykes Peak Racers.

I got a V8 in a Reliant Kitten, so anything is possible. It just depends on how much work you want to do.

I've got a Mk1 fiesta and a V6 mondeo and want to do the same thing eventually(althoug not with the engine out of my mondeo!!), having had a measure up the V6 should fit the engine bay with ease but the problem may be the V6 gearbox/starter motor that would have to be used, meaning that the passenger side inner wing would require heavy mods and possible steering issues on full lock. The top engine mount should mount more or less straight onto the inner wing with minor mods. The 2 piece driveshaft will need a bearing mount fabricated to attach to the block.

The Mk2/3 shouldn't be so much of an issue with inner wing clearance as they came with 5 speed boxes and one piece driverside drive shafts meaning the driveshaft bearing mount can be disposed with, although clearance around the rear mounted alternator may cause problems.

Well...
Firstly, i'm curious, as like whats the biggest 'car type' a Triumph bike engine could power to a decent driving level.
I'd say one could power a 5-door hatchback or a roadster at best.

Secondly, so are we saying a Fiesta could house a V8, but a V10, V12, or W16 would have to be rear-located, but have the GB, car bat, an fuel tank upfront, as theyre isnt enough rear space for all?

if you are affter a 400bhp 4WD fiesta then take a look a this months issue of TRC (track and race car) they have a very quick car that has just finished the Barbadus Carnival. looks cool and was only running 265 ish for the event.

and how about this one for size. a 27ltr (yes 27 not 2.7) Meateor engine from a tank, in a Rover SD1!!!!

now if you copuld get one of those things hooked up to a 4DW drive train (ueah right), added 4 garrett GT42s and fuel injection, now that would be cool!

Thanks Chris.
