Advice on tuning Pug 306 HDi !!
Discussion
Currently got a Pug 306 2001 2.0 HDi ( 90 bhp ). I know they use the same engine at both 90 and 110 bhp in the Pug 307, I think the only difference is that the 110 has an intercooler. Thinking of tying to up the power of my engine to 110 bhp. Seems to be a few companies dealing in products.Has anyone had any experience getting and fitting an upgrade to this car? If so does the abscence of an intercooler cause any problems?

Your best bet is probably a chip, if your ECU will accept one. Usually these give reasonable power + torque gains without increasing boost. Ring around a few companies, and ask them if they have a chip for your engine, and what sort of power gains you can expect.
You could try and have an intercooler fitted, but that would probably cost more money than it's worth for any power gains that result.

you could get N2O fitted. i think you would need to talk to a specialist on diesels though.
intercooler would be a good idea as it would be safer to run more boost.
i read a report on some VW racers once, and the guys that did the tuning work said the best way to get power out of them is not just turning up the boost, but sorting the fueling out (ECU then upgrading the injectors) as well. i think they where close to 250bhp on the old 1.9tdi.
also, as with most turboed engines, look at inlet and exhaust as these can give some gains.
thanks Chris.
