. . . 10 mins of start up. Does not matter whether it's hot or cold. It just dies. Within 10mins of turning the key. I've been to a sports garage and had it on the computer. Had the Lambda Sensor replaced, the Crank sensor replaced, then a small rubber hose(part of the breather system), the Carb damper, and finally a fuel relay. After all this it has run fine for exactly 4 weeks (almost to the minute!) Then, just getting on the motorway last Sunday, it cuts out. Always restarts but it takes about 30 seconds! Not nice when you are in traffic. Last piece of the jigsaw. It only ever does it when I put any kinda power in to the car. If I drive it real easy (under 2000 revs) it never does it and still never has. And, like I said at the start, it never does it after 10 mins of running. It's done it 2mins in, 9 mins in, 4 mins in . . . get the picture.

If anyone has any idea what actually needs replacing,
I would be eternally grateful.I love these cars.

Cheers

Couldn't see it on the list, but how about the fuel filter?

It fits the sysmptoms.

Hi There.
According to my mechanic, he says it looks pretty new. (I asked him about that) The thing I've been advised about (from another forum) is a relay connected to the fuel system.(along your lines) When I rang VW to sort it, they found one called a "Power Relay". I bought it but now can't find where to put it!! It doesn't go anywhere under the driver-side dash (where I thought all the relays went) So, now I'm trying to find out where it does go. Gonna ring VW again tomorrow if I can't find a manual on the net tonight. I haven't got a manual for it you see.
Cheers.
anyway.
