OK, what can be easier than replacing your radiator top hose with a nice Samco silicone jobby?

Lots of things apparently

My rad pipe apparently has a 33mm ID, Samco are available in 32mm or 35mm IDs. So which should I go for? Force fit a 32mm or clamp down on a 35mm?

Cheers,
Rob

I would go 35.

When the hose is fitted the neck it goes over will likely have a flare in it to help stop the hose coming off. These don't look nice at the best of times without making it worse with too small a pipe.

Plus marginally better flow in the larger pipe.

Go for the 32 mm item.
Itll slide on perfectly as silicone is a heck of a lot slicker than rubber, the 35 will be as slack as a cock in a shirt-sleeve (french).
The silicone pipes are infinitely more durable than the rubber items and theres no way youll split them so long as the ends are cut flush and square.

Trust me on this one, the 32 will do the job just fine.
HTH.
