Progressive engineering rc87 cam?
Discussion
Summary
Bought an ex military Armoured car 15G (Defender) block with a post '93 EFI head on it which has done about 50 miles from new (reserve stock)!!! for a very reasonable price. The previous owner fitted brand new 10.5:1 pistons then after the indicated 50 miles doing not a lot to the gallon, decided a diesel would be better for his off-roader. Turns out the car is fitted with the original low-lift Defender cam, which appears to be a recipe for cr4p performance & serious fuel useage when matched to the high compression pistons.
I am fitting it to suffolkfoxy's TVR 350i and aiming to up the cam profile to match the pistons. Any suggestions (with sources if poss). I have heard the Progressive Engineering RC87 is good but cannot find it anywhere.
Also would you fit new springs, followers etc, bearing in mind the engine hasn't been anywhere.
