Can anyone tell me (please) with a bit of definetnessossity, what cc a Mazda RX7 rotary from a mk1 is, I've seen them described as 2300, 1300 and others. Any hp figures for the turbo lump? Just curious, the smaller the better really. Must talk to the insurance company...... not that I would consider fitting one in the Lada.......

for a few days yet......

I heard it's technically a 1.3lt engine, but since it develops the same power as a "2.3lt" it's classed as that for insurance purposes.

If I remember well the first series had two rotors with a capacity of 650cc, which gives a total of to the mentioned 1.3 litres before. Think the later models have gradually increased bit by bit on that.

I thought the very first rx7 was a 1.0litre dual rotary (2x500cc rotors), then quickly increased to 1200 (2x600cc), the mk2 was the 1st 1.3?

They are considered 2.6 for the 1.3 as a wankel has 2 ignition cycles a rotor per revolution.

Any one fitted one of these to anything? Are there any things I should look out for? The engine I will be getting is fine, the car is hanging somewhat. It was bought for it's engine. I'm prepared for the fuel costs. . It is a turbocharged unit but I don't want to have to cut holes in the bonnet of my car. Insurance is reasonable too!!

Its 1300cc defo.
I'd rather be a wankel than a piston.
OR
I'd rather be a piston than a wankel.

Good starter line for a debate?
