have a Mk 4B Rolls royce meteor engine EX centurian tank. I am using this engine to power my replica spitfire as its basically a Merlin without a supercaharger. The problem is the mags are knackered and i need to replace the mags with electronic ignition problem is i dont haver a clue how to go about it. The salvage squad on the tele used a V12 Jag system when they restored a tank but how they did i dont know.

I would have thought that the CAA would object to anything other than magnetos as an ignition system on an aero engine. Is the Meteor CAA certified for aviation use? I understand it is the same engine but is it built and tested to the same standards?
