I know a few people have mentioned coming down the M40, I live very near junction 4 (High Wycombe) and was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up on the way? I'm meeting with a friend in an S2 Elise and thought I might organise a back road blast to VW (about 30-35mins) if anyone is interested. If you are post on here or e-mail through my profile.
Cheers.

I'll be on the M40 down - from Birmingham so any meet up point will be great. My car might hold you guys up though so I best stick to the back of the line. That said, i'll be doing 70 on the motorway, if you know any decent back roads I will have to let rip so I shouldnt be too far behind everyones pace...

any meet up point suggestions?? / know if any more are coming??

Gavin,

Fingers crossed I should be able to make it. Where are you thinking of meeting up? Asda perhaps? I live in Loudwater, so J3 or J4 are good for me.

Cheers

I was thinking of meeting at the cinema/Asda car park's at about 11.00 to leave at 11.15. Sound OK with everyone? BCA there right next to the M40.
I'm going out this afternoon to check the route, I'll post brief directions later and print some more detailed ones to bring on sunday for anyone not sure of the route.

Cinema and Asda car parks are different animals, so should we say 'top cinema' car park, ie the one opposite the UCI visible from the mini roundabout?

11 sounds good.

Cheers

You are right Gazboy, technically speaking in terms of traffic flow, but most of us have met at the UCI before. Also the UCI car park may be less busy on a Sunday morning than the weird one way Handy Cross sports centre car park.

Furthermore, the Handy Cross leisure centre is heading off into Wycombe direction, and we'd be likely to lose Bluesatin who may find the allure of the White Horse too strong

Ok cinema car park it is then.
Guy
Assuming you're bringing the Ultima, will you be able to get in the car park? The ramps are a bit steep and ground clearance is marginal on the Wedge.

To car park from M40. From junction 4 get in left hand lane, take the 1st left and then immediately left at the round-about. You can see the car park on your right. Follow the road for about 100 yards and the entrance is on the right.

Basic dirrections.
A404 - J8/9 M4
1st left onto dual carriageway (don't know road name)
3rd exit at round-about onto A330 toward Ascot
A329 to VW
Easy! I hope

The Ultimas are fine in that car park. We had both G-man and bluesatin meet up there before. My RS used to be fine as well.

Unless they've put some new extra big ones in

Gents,

We are staying with friends in the Claydons on Saturday night and as long as the England game is going the right way and we get in time we will try and meet you there as well.

UptheIron,

Where abouts are you Loudwater, as I'm along Kingsmead Rd, opposite the rugby club ?

I think I'm getting old gav, that recce has knackered me out, infact the MRT is getting on my t*ts when I go down bumpy A roads.

Hhhhhmmmmmm Drive it faster, smooths the bumps out better then.

No new speed humps, probably just being paranoid. I don't want to have help fix marine ply, I'm not so good with manual labour

As everyone's pretty local do we need printed directions? It's pretty easy if you know the area a bit.
