Back by popular demand! An early morning romp across the best roads the South Downs have to offer. We're meeting from 6am for a 6:30 departure from Ockham Common (that doggers' favourite), next to junction 10 on the M25.

We'll be heading, in a roundabout sort of way, to the Hayling Island Sailing Club for breakfast by the sea. It's a very twisty little route so I'd encourage everybody to use the 'leave no man behind' principle. If you always make sure you can see the car behind you (the car in front will do the same) then we shouldn't lose anybody.

Breakfast is served inside the Sailing Club overlooking the channel. 5-item breakfast is £2.75 and 7-item breakfast is £3.75. It's tasty stuff too!

Maps, route notes and sat-nav files can be downloaded here.

I expect people will all go there seperate ways after breakfast at Hayling Island. There may be a few small groups convoying home the scenic route, but by then the roads will be getting busier. Hooning is best done before breakfast wink

Get yourself along to the start or perhaps pick up the convoy half way.

If you like older stuff - yanks, hot rods, classics, customs - the Victory Wheelers Hayling Reunion takes place the same day on the other side of the island.

Hi, I just joined up to the site and have been flicking through the various forums. What sort of shape do these runs take - will it be a half a day outing and are there any do's / don'ts I would need to be aware of?

Geoff,

Firstly, welcome to PH.

In terms of do's and dont's on runs..
Do have fun smile
Don't worry too much about not knowing anyone.

In all seriousness, we're a pretty friendly bunch who tend to 'look after' each other on runs.
if you see the person behind get stuck at lights or get left behind, then wait for them..the person in front should do the same.

It's not about all out speed....more a friendly jaunt around some of the nicer driving roads in the area.

This run is an early start with some fun before breakfast. gives everyone the choice to do as they please for the rest of the day.

There also tend to be be mini meets around london who then convoy down to the start point of a run like this.
