I was so impressed by the road over the cat and fiddle coming back from blackpool at the weekend!

Does anyone fancy a meeting up there? It would be a great drive out and the roads are awesome !!

Any suggestions for a date ?

Totally agree, the maclesfield -> buxton road is really nice. Can't say I've driven a proper car on it though, I left Macc more than 5 years ago! Used to drive up there a lot visiting the goyt valley and/or Mam Tor of an evening.

There are more really nice roads around that area if you take a look, watch out for the zillions of bikes who descend on the area at the first sign of decent weather though.

Just to stick a spanner in the works, this road was reported to be the most dangerous in England last year.

Cos of the sh!t that went down last year with Judas family in Liverpool we went over that road every weekend. One day there were two cars nose down in the ditch side by side - still trying to work out how the hell they did that!

Having said that, driving the MINI over it was awesome! After all the stress, we needed some hooning (not got the Tuscan then) and the MINI takes those corners far faster than most cars! Throwing it around the corners on an empty road was just the fun we needed at the time. Took our minds totally off the RL cr@p that was going on.

Don't think I would recomend driving the Tuscan the same way though

We need to plan this far enough in the future so that we can get people to turn up. Its a great drive to the place from where ever you live, the thinking was that we could meet up and the Cat and Fiddle Pub.

Can I suggest saturday (avoid the bikers) ? 21st June or is sunday better ?

If you're going out there be careful! The BIB are usually out in force on a nice weekend with their cameras - they're trying to stop the born again bikers killing themselves but no doubt they'd settle for a few Tivs on their score sheet!

I'm back in Brissle unfortunately. The old Cat and Fiddle used to be owned by my best mates wife's parents (er... sorry). Smashin' bike road. Nearly died about twice...
