Anyone else doing/done this? Finally the time has come after a long wait! Diablo, Noble, XKR, Mas 3200, Exige, Viper. Should be good... looks like it may rain though. Bugger.
Cant bl00dy wait....
Ted, do you want a review on the event? Its run by Tangerine...

Yes please - I'm sure it would be of interest to people to see just how much track time you get in the cars etc.

I've already done this andI must admit I was a little dissapointed. I got to drive the following:-

Audi TT ( 225bhp version )
Jaguar XKR ( Auto )
Porsche 911 Carrera 2 ( 996 )
Maserati 3200GT
Dodge Viper ( RT10 )
Lamborghini Diablo SV

The instructors are understandably quite strict about how fast you can go, but there seemed to be a lot of variation of the rules, for instance the guy in the 911 was contantly telling me I was driving all wrong and that the car would spin if I kept it up. This really spoiled it for me as all I wanted to do was drive the cars, not get a driving lesson. The guy in the Diablo ( looked about 12yo by the way ) was really cool and kept telling me to push it more, he didn't even say anything when I gunned it out of the pits and held it in 3rd all the way down the back straight with my foot to the floor, my god that cars fast!!. The one to look out for is the 3200GT, really easy to drive and stupidly quick, felt almost as quick as the Diablo, I got the traction control light to come on in 4th coming through Devils Elbow. I kept trying to distract the instructor so I could switch it off, but he was having none of it!! The 911 was bland, the TT felt really slow, the Viper was like a truck and the Jag was an auto.
I suppose for the money there is now other way of driving this sort of car so if your thinking about it , then go for it.

Hi Andy,

Thats a strange selection of motors.. I guess they substituted some of them?
I drove:
Viper
Noble M12GTO 2.5
996 C2
Maserati 3200GT
Exige
Diablo SV

The XKR had been trashed last year, and replaced with the 911 (good substitution)... I agree up to a point about the strictness of the instructors, although I found them quite encouraging after my first couple of drives. I had been told that if you drive smooth and safe then they 'let you off the leash' a bit due to good comments from the other instructors. I'll be writing up a proper review of the day for ted but some single word comments on the cars:

911: Competent
Noble: Fabulous
Viper: Yuk
3200GT: Soft
Exige: Go-kart
Diablo: Fast!
