Probably the Best Historic Race of the Year - Actually it is.

Saturday 27 September - Practice / Qualifying Thursday / Friday.

I've two spare whole event passes if anyone wants one or both.

Forget Silverstone Classic (Festival)
Forget Goodwood Revival
Forget Le Mans Classic

Six hours of continuous daytime racing and night time - 1550 -2150hrs

Currently 78 in the entry list.

Can't this year, but thanks for the heads-up for next year - my old girl turns 30 and will qualify for the Classic Car area and the track session on the Wednesday.

I have to say I've been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for this race biglaugh

Less than 24 hours to the 2025 start now.

Here's last year's race - six hours condensed into two minutes.

I'm back from this Spa Six Hours and am thoroughly enjoying this conversation on my own with a welcome contribution from "havoc".

At one point believe the leading twenty cars were comprised of GT40s and Elans + one Ginetta.

I'll post some photos up if I get time and I'll log in and view them biglaugh

Good to see Martin Brundle racing again, even if they didn t finish.

Performance of the race has to be the Ginetta G4R to come second, against the hordes of GT40s, Cobras, E-Types etc, & all with a Lotus Twin Cam powering it.

This race takes me back to the times when it would have been contemporary and not classic.
Watching the minnows fight it out with the big fish.

Andy, I've got a long term dry stored 952 (944 Turbo) in Baltic Blue - it needs "recommissioning" as they say.
I'll never have to time to get it back on the road now.

I remember back in the 90's an Astra Van beat around a roundabout because the turbo lag wouldn't let me get the power down - smile

But once out on the open road - biggrin

Where are you in the country?

I recommend you speak to Augment Automotive in Gloucestershire; they have a clever waste gate and a software modification for the ECU which gives more power & reduces lag.

Thanks for the information - I'll never get around to sorting it out and I'll be letting it go as it is.
The turbo lag - I rather enjoyed that especially in the rain smile

Fantastic race this year once again, I raced in the number 61 E-Type and we had a great battle with an Aston Martin DB4 GT in class. We finished 35th OA which is an improvement from last year's position. Looking forward to next one!

Thanks for posting this -

I wasn't racing - just watching and hanging around.

The petrol station venue is pretty unique and is nothing like anything in the UK.

I photographed an E-Type refuelling and will have a look at which one it was when I get time.

I'm interested to know what it's like transitioning from daylight to night time - how quick does that happen and how do you work through it.

I'm guessing you had a proper decent headlight setup.

It always amazes me the guys with standard lighting looking for braking points - plenty of missed ones especially at Chicane.
