Has anyone heard of it’s actually on? I’ve not had any offers of exhibition space. Nothing on the Autosport website and no listing on the NEC events list either?

Have the years of overpricing and decline finally caught up with it?

I noticed recently, nothing at all about a 26 show, might be they are hopefully looking for a better, cheaper venue, or it might finally get dead, let's be fair, been in a death rattle for about 10 years.

To not have a date or venue announced 6 months before its traditional slot in the calendar, then I think it’s safe to assume it won’t be happening next year. At least not at the NEC in January.

A pity really as I enjoyed many great years at the Autosport Show and it always felt like the ideal post-Christmas season opener.

As pointed out above, it’s been in decline for a few years now.

I’m not sure how reliable this source is but first report I’ve read saying Autosport ‘26 has been cancelled, not sure this will come as any surprise: -

It certainly looks like it is dead, it is still not on NEC's website. It will be sad if it is dead, but the blame has to lay with Autosport & NEC, not necessarily in that order, for using is as a cash cow for years. The last few shows have been pathetic in comparison to it's once great heights.

I remember on year, it had a massive display of Ferrari's on display, that combined with the scale of the show in general meant we did see it all despite being there nearly at opening and almost literally being kicked out at the end!

I think they basically tried to beat a dead dog for about 10 years.

The venue is extortionate, which is then passed on to you the public, the stand buyers, some of the costs were a joke, someone listed them years a go and it was truly shocking.

I hope it continues in time at another, more suitable venue.

I recall thinking when it started I might have to go for 2 days to see everything, much like the Classic car show now, but that was a very long time ago. It has been dead for a long time really, sadly, but I really do hope it continues or is perhaps linked with Race Retro that has also sort of hobbled along for years after a great start.

People just have enough of paying for very little sadly.

While I’m not a classic car enthusiast, I have been to the NEC November show for the past couple of years.

I have enjoyed it far more than the Autosport Show and I’ve struggled to get round it in one day. It’s also had a really good Motor Sport/Competition car representation with clubs such as the VSCC, 750MC, etc in attendance. I plan to go again this year, along with Race Retro.

I went 3 years ago with my son and left after a couple of hours having seen everything. The costs were eye watering so it’s no surprise it’s died a death, it had back then but was hanging on for dear life. I remember seeing many stands selling wool jumpers, scarfs, and various cheap tat, it was more an indoor market but you were being charged ridiculous sums to go in to find out. The parking was something like £18 before I even got inside.

Said back then I wouldn’t go back.

Thank goodness they have seen sense. There is scope for a pre season show, especially with sim racing now a huge part of racing, perfect for indoors, just hop3 someone tries something new

Me too. CSCC will be having a stand at the NEC Classic Car show as well this year, and I there are always a few other motorsport orientated car clubs there like the Owen Motor Club, Shenstone and District Motor Club etc.

Yep, I went the first time a couple of years ago, incredible show, something for pretty much all tastes and massive, I took my Dad last year, all that walking nearly broke him.

Same here, lots of the cars aren't that old either. Many years ago it was twinned with Top Gear Live.

Most telling thing for me is the main ASI sales guy now works for Race Retro, I got very confused when he e-mailed me this week!

Easy job swap, I would think the brightest thing all round is to amalgamate the two, hopefully the price doesn't skyrocket as it did with ASI, though being at the ripoff NEC never helped, even the classic car show is silly money now, but it is worth it as there is so much there

Not everything at the NEC is a rip-off, I've got a ticket for a Motorhome show in a few weeks and that was £13 including parking!

(Perhaps motorhome dealers have deeper pockets to rent stands, so they don't have to make any money off the punters).

That shows is unique in that it actually pays for NEC parking for people that attend!!
