I'm looking to expand my horizons into the continent next year.

After the Le Mans Classic 2023 - with track time.

Spa Classic 2024 - with track time.

And the Spa 6 Hours (Classic) 2024.

I'm hooked - the 6 Hours being probably the best race I've ever seen / attended.

No more Silverstone Classic [Festival} now.

All suggestions welcome for historic race weekends ideally with some track time but not essential.

Anywhere on the continent - big or small events - that offer a great weekend.

Definitely Angouleme, middle weekend in September usually.

Racing is on the Sunday but the whole weekend is great to soak up the local atmosphere, restaurants & bars.

Been 6 times now so it can't be bad!

Thanks,

It looks like tickets need to be sorted early in the year?

That's grandstand passes? - In order to get a good view?

Though it is possible to view at some locations without a ticket?

Just noticed the questions about the Circuit des Ramparts.
I've been a couple of times, and you could pick up the tickets when you're there, but personally I'd pre-book.
The Sunday is all racing around the City walls, the Friday and Saturday have all sorts of other things going on.
The concourse on Friday night had some bands on stage then the cars all went onto stage one by one and got discussed in French by the owners. It was a strange event as the whole town seemed to come out to watch. .
On the Saturday, there are several "Rallies" which basically are just anyone with something interesting driving around the local roads visiting chateaus and eating cheese, and seemingly getting very lost. I've not done one yet and there's no way we'd be allowed anything vaguely similar in the UK, so we'll be going over to take part in the next few years. There was a GT40 in the rally this year, if you still have yours. You would have to pre-book the rally and the forms to register pop up on the official website a few months before the event.

If you fast forward my holiday video to about 5 minutes you'll get an idea of the event:

Thanks for taking the time to give a good picture of the weekend. Your video is particularly illuminating.
It's looks more relaxing than I had imagined.
The racing, is on the Sunday then, with other things going on on the run up to the weekend.
The bits "not allowed in the UK" sound particularly up my street, whatever they might be. An informal approach to coming and goings with the cars?

Worth looking at the Vernasca Silver Flag hill climb. It is held near Parma in Italy each June.
