I’ve booked to go to Malta next week to coincide with the Malta Classic. Ive been to Malta and Gozo a few times but not done the Classic before so don’t really know how best to enjoy it. The website doesn’t really give much info so wondered in any PH’ers have been.

Not really related to what your asking, but I was in Malta in June and managed to go to a classic car meet in St Paul's Bay. It was on a Sunday morning in the car park of the aquarium up there. There is also a classic car museum not far from there about 10 mins walk that was really good and only £10 to get in.

It will be interesting to hear how you get on, as I've thought of going over to see it.

I suspect it is a laid back affair which is why there isn't much detail on spectating, just turn up and see what's what - there's probably not many jobsworth restrictions of where you can view from.

The Motor Punk website had a couple of articles about Maltese motorsport:

Thanks for the links. We were at the Spa 6hr last weekend and not expecting this to be in the same league and it rained pretty much constantly. We like Malta and when I heard about the Malta Classic I thought we could have a bit of late sun with cars. We are staying on Gozo so will need to take the bus/ferry/bus to get to each event but what else is there to do on holiday?

Drink pints of Cisk in the sunshine biggrin

(There's a craft beer brewery on an industrial estate on Gozo, just by the main bus route from the ferry to Victoria, with a nice little tap room)

It’s more about the location and atmosphere than the racing but there were some nice cars and top drivers. Travelling from one viewing point to the next in old Maltese buses was fun.
You can’t see much of the track but found this onboard video.

Absolutely bonkers.
