The Motorist Sunday Service 30/06

We're heading back to Yorkshire - here's how to join us for breakfast!

Not that we need much of an excuse for a road trip, but our first trip to The Motorist near Leeds last year was a roaring success, with the venue bursting at the seams as you all piled in to enjoy the fantastic cars, coffee and breakfast baps.

Once again, we have space for 1,000 cars from 10:00 – 13:00 on Sunday June 30, with the ‘most exciting automotive venue in the north’ open until 16:00 for those of you that want to make a full day of it. We’ll come armed with a pop up PistonHeads shop this year with a range of stickers, keyrings, mugs and clothing for you to buy, some of which are only available to buy exclusively at our events. Just in case you needed an excuse.

Based in Sherburn in Elmet, The Motorist is a unique venue for car enthusiasts to meet, appreciate awesome cars and enjoy great food, surrounded by fantastic driving roads. With an on-site garage, body shop and restaurant, you’ve got to check out the video on their homepage to see how amazing this venue is. If Carlsberg did motoring venues…

You bring the cars, we’ll bring the stickers and (hopefully) the sunshine as well. Sign up here for free and we’ll see you there!

Only been the once and decided I couldn't afford to remortgage the house to buy breakfast at The Motorist. I wasn't impressed, NY500 between Malton and Pickering is a far better venue.

Tea cakes = West Yorks or Wezzy Land

Bread Cakes or Baps = North Yorks where this is (was west riding till 1974) people say Leeds but this ain’t Leeds, nowhere bloody near it

I wouldn't have known had someone not posted in the The Motorist post I was already following, hopefully it'll get a bit more traction.

Maybe if there was a dedicated Sunday Service forum instead of just events it might get more attention.

In another note I am on a random WhatsApp group for car meets. A screenshot from Facebook has been posted (I’m not on Facebook so can’t go on the group) but it says

“Cars by the pond pistonheads breakfast meet”

I can’t see that advertised anywhere on here either.

Didn't there used to be a Sunday Service forum or am I imagining that?

There did used to be but we were trying to simplify the number of forums we had, and it make sense to combine it with the main Events & Meetings forum.

I went to the last Pistonheads event here & saw virtually nothing about Pistonheads!
It's a nightmare to get in on a day like this mainly because of a 100m length of single track road near the entrance which they really need to sort out.

I live fairly local but only go when I think its quite & have saved up enough money to buy Breakfast.

Agreed, there was a small hut with collaboration with eBay I believe last year?

We did publicise that we would be in the eBay lounge for the event due to all of our event equipment being replaced. We'll be there with our marquee and a range of merchandise this year and plenty of flags, so hopefully you won't miss us thumbup

I've put my name down. I complain there isn't many decent meets up North so I should make the effort really, it's about 1hr 20 from me.

With regards to low numbers registering, I wouldn't have seen this if it wasn't for the Facebook post done this morning.

Baps are soft with a flour dusting. Cobs are crusty, in a nice way !
Barms are like Baps without the flour.
And of course there is another type of Bap which we don't discuss in polite society ?
