Brooklands are hosting the Easter classic gathering on Easter Saturday April 30. Pre 1994 cars on museum site with vast additional adjoining parking for newer cars and motorcycles. All ticket availability on brooklands website.

I like Brooklands it's a great venue. However the pricing there is ridiculous. So overpriced for you to show your car. These organiser's need to understand that no cars will mean no show.

Drop the price and you'll fill the place up.

I am constantly telling people that if you become a brooklands trust member for the price of membership if you visit the museum twice you’ve got your membership paid for , thus giving entrance free for the year. Then there is no additional charge to display at events. The Easter classic was packed with very little parking space left.

Exactly this - I think Brooklands membership is great value.

But not everyone wants a Brooklands membership. I certainly don't. People just want to pay a reasonable charge to show there car at an event. This is why I won't ever be going to Goodwood either. I think it's a plain and simple rip off.

Plenty of other car shows to attend where they want you to attend so price the event accordingly. No need to pay silly money.

That’s good to know . Maybe you or someone could start a thread of low or no cost car events,

I agree - and I'm a tight tt, too - providing you don't live too far away.

Since January, I've already been 4 times. Plenty of entertainment and it also means that I don't feel like I haven't had my money's worth if I only turn up for an hour or two.

Attended last week's Mini meet after the PH meet at MB World, chatted to a couple of owners of older Minis. Then attended yesterday's meet. There are at least another 3 I will attend, not including a random day out with my partner (who's also a member as I went for the Double membership... that's the nearest she'll get to a marriage commitment hehe ).

The only problem is that seeing so many classics and modern classics (Porsche 928 GT, E-Type, Peugeot 205GTI, etc to name but a few) does make your wallet start to stir. hehe

There are some grumpy old tight gits around, I joined early this year and went yesterday and got in free. Membership is very good value and we need to keep museums like this going for us to enjoy.

Oh, there's that, too. I expect the prices have shot up (wasn't it under £20 before?) because of the cost of running such an organisation.
