Prescott Hill Climb Sunday Service 19/05

Join us as the Sunday Service band wagon rolls on to Gloucestershire

Update: Due to adverse weather, this event has now been moved to Sunday 19 May. Anyone that has booked a ticket will be emailed with their options.

Time on the hill is sold out, but there's plenty of space for spectators. General admission is £6 in advance with code PISTONHEADS24 or £15 on the gate, under 16s go free

Whether you wanted to tackle the famous hill or just come along and soak up the atmosphere, our first outing at Prescott last year was incredibly popular with time on the hill selling out in a matter of hours.

As a result, we’re heading back to Gloucestershire on Sunday 19 May with space for 60 cars for PistonHeads members to take to the hill as part of Prescott’s Car Club Day, and hundreds more to come along and spectate.

This is a non-competitive event, to give amateurs and experienced racers alike a rare opportunity to get a taste of hillclimbing on the 1,127-yard sprint up the Prescott Hill Climb. Just £65 will get you four runs, with dedicated parking in the PistonHeads paddock area. Cars must be road-legal and road registered, and drivers must have a full UK driver's licence. You’ll also need a Motorsport UK RS Clubman licence, which you can get for free here.

If you’re keen to take on the hill, then book your place here by selecting ‘PistonHeads Hill Drives’ (this includes your admission to the event too). If you just want to come along to spectate and enjoy a great day out, general admission is just £6 in advance with discount code PISTONHEADS24, or it’ll be £15 on the day.

And as always once you’ve done all of that, add your name to the PH list here.

See you there!

When: Sunday May 19, 1000h-1700h
Where: Prescott Speed Hill Climb, Gotherington, Cheltenham, GL52 9RD, UK
Cost: General admission £6 in advance with code PISTONHEADS24 or £15 on the gate, under 16s go free
Spaces: 1,000 general admission, 60 on the hill
Tickets: Get yours here

Will the runs be timed?
Some sort of leaderboard?

Seeing as you need a race license I’d assume so but no mention of it in the article?

It’s non competitive therefore no timings. I’ll be taking my daughter up the hill in the 4C but nice and steady. Such a rarity to get up this famous hill.

Did this last year and, despite the cold and damp and a small visit to the gravel (entirely of my own making), had an absolutely fantastic time.

Highly recommended to all, a great spectator event AND a great opportunity to have fun in pretty much any car.

All booked - see you there!

Runs are not timed, think race licence is for some sort of MSUK / insurance situation ? They are not "supposed" to be flat out attack runs they ask you not to wear protective gear like helmets, even in open cars, but you can argue with them on the day.
You can go as fast and lairy as you like though smile
You can always record your run and get the time from that and post in here after to see how it compares with others who did the same.

You'll need an RS Clubmans licence for both driver and passenger if they are over 16. You can get them here: https://www.motorsportuk.org/competitors/rs-clubma...

Before I sign up, any information on noise limits and testing? MSUK regulations (https://motorsportuk.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Motorsport-UK-Yearbook-2024.pdf) aren't the easiest thing to digest, but my concern is that the Exige will be too loud (which is great on the road but not so good at any events!).

No static testing but there will be drive by testing, shouldn't be redlining it though!

This was a fantastic event last year. Spurred me to attend the 2023 British Hill Climb championship at Gurston Down too. You get much closer to the 'action' than you do at a traditional track like Silverstone / Castle Combe / Brands etc.

The big downside was that the S3 Exige's sounded so good that I now feel like I will be a failure in life until I have one.....and that is almost certainly never going to happen!

I only attended as a spectator last year. I am now signed up to go up the hill for this event (albeit at a very steady pace). Should be fun.

Mx5 is booked in at BBR earlier THE SAME WEEK so fingers crossed that goes as planned!

Cheers, figured!

Another question for the wider forum and/or the PH elders: I assume that the £65 is for one car and one adult for admission, passengers would be an additional ticket at £6?

I'll be driving so slowly in mine that it'll sound like an EV, if that helps xD It's all in the exhaust...any older V6 Exige or Evora with the same setup will make the same offensively loud noise wink

Lovely looking NC!

Forgive if I’ve missed this in the above, but if you have bought a ticket to run up the hill, do you still need a separate admission ticket for a passenger?

I'm booked in just after you with my NA BBR. I hope the paddock puts us next to each other.

Love seeing the I LOL car at Prescott! Looks fantastic.
To answer the question about passengers, yes you will need to purchase a separate admission ticket for anyone (over 16y/o) additional to the driver that are coming with you.
