Who's going to the NEC this weekend? I spent the day setting up the Alvis Owner Club stand. Plenty more of interest to see as well

Was meant to be going for Friday but at £40 a ticket, £12 parking plus £30 for fuel and then food on top it's a VERY expensive day out.

I'm going on Sunday. Looking forward to it as it's normally a good show.

Yes, this has put me off.

Off to IWM Manchester instead.

I don't consider that very expensive at all, hundreds of thousands of people spend more than that every week of the year attending football matches.

Looks like I am going now as a mate has just messaged me to say he's on his club's stand and has a free ticket going. Makes it worth the trip now.

I would like to know if it is a good show this year. I went last year and vowed not to go back. It was dreadful. Much smaller than previous years.

If it is back to its old format this year then I would be happy to return next year.

Oh, I'm a newbie. I'll be wandering around, hoping that it draws me in.
Ideally, I will think "Oh I wish I could stay longer".

Rail ticket is open cheap day return, so I can get back to London if my first ever visit is not the humdinger I am hoping for. You've set some expectation though London GT3 !

I was there today and thought it was great. Was there seven hours and could have stayed longer.

It was an OK show today, although half the show is seemingly Fords so if you don't like them then it may be underwhelming. Did my usual two rides with Sporting Bears then just wandered around but definitely felt small compared to previous years.

Love this show. Went today, the standard of the restorations is amazing and seems to get better year on year. Its great to bump into folk you know from better times smile
How I wish I could have driven home in that Maserati Mistral drophead...

I went last year, and again yesterday.

Smaller than previous shows? How big did it used to be?

Personally I have never been to anything as big as this show, this year is fills 6 halls, I walked 8.5 miles, I was ruined at the end.

Well try exhibiting a car for 3 days, £500/700 on hotel depending on which one, food, fuel, taxi etc,if it wasn’t for us you would not have a show to moan about.

Exactly. That`s what we were saying yesterday. I used to do Ultimate Dubs and that was bad enough, getting there Saturday morning and not being able to move your car until late Sunday afternoon. Luckily there were hotels pretty much next door and a shopping centre to wander round, but the novelty does wear off.
