Best of British brooklands May 7

Great day at Brooklands. Weather dull, but only rained slightly at 10am.
Lots of marques. 50-odd TVRs, sort of out of the way on the banking, dozens of MGs, but the highlight for me was the display of Invictas on the way in. Very pleasant owners, willing to chat, and they are interesting cars. They smelled delightful; the car interiors that is. Didn't get too close to the owners.
There were a couple or so Bristols: a 401/3 and a 407. Gordon Keebles, Alvis, TRs: a 3 and 3A all but side-by-side, and a Gilbern GT, the second I've seen in a months. A lovely MG Airline, and a selections of T-types - my favourites, although one with side-screens up. I mean; where's credibility? Thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside, and not one I can complain of, is that it was packed, especially from around midday. Couldn't get any video. I got in the way of a couple of photographers, despite trying not to.
Nearly bought a Bristol 406, with the lovely BMW-designed 2-litre 6, enlarged to 2.2. 18 pushrods to cope with inclined valves [possibly]. The seller told me that there was a bit of 'rust' on the body but, as it was aluminium, it was easy to cut it out and replace.
There was a delightful Grantura IIA, right at the end of 50-odd TVRs.
Didn't do much videoing due to the crowds, but got a few pictures. I'll put them up on my website as and when. Bit busy in the coming week, but next weekend I'll try to edit it. Might make it two videos.
