Thruxton Sunday Service 11/12

Thruxton is back on the calendar with the skid pan running - what are you waiting for?

How is it nearly that time of year again already? While we’ve had fewer Sunday Services this year due to a broader mix of events, 2022 has been a busy one and come and gone in a flash.

But we couldn’t let the year end without one more. Which is why we’re very excited to be returning to Thruxton again following the popular first event we ran with them in 2019, in partnership with our good friends at Mission Motorsport.

Thruxton will be throwing open the doors to their Motorsport Centre, serving up hot brews and breakfast baps, so come hungry. Mission Motorsport will be running the skid pan for the morning, where you can take your own car for a spin (quite literally) or hire either an MX-5 or F-Type from their fleet.

No matter what you own, be it front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all four, a skid pan is undoubtedly the perfect place to learn car control in slow motion. Want to provoke some lift-off oversteer in your hot hatch or flick out the back end of your MX-5? This is where you do it. Plus all of the money raised will go towards helping the MM team do what they do best.

The skid pan will be run in 30-minute sessions with six cars per group, costing £25 per car. Book your space here and be quick, as they won’t hang around. Ensure that you're at the skid pan at least 15-minutes before your allocated session for a briefing and to keep the groups moving on time.

There will also be a rare opportunity to walk the track at 11:00, where you can walk the full 2.4 mile circuit to warm up. Book your spot here for £5. All proceeds raised from the event will help Mission Motorsport, The Forces' Motorsport Charity help the wounded, injured or sick Armed Forces community on a journey of recovery.

If you fancy joining us for the final Sunday Service of 2022, please sign up via this page on the Thruxton website.

See you there!

When: Sunday December 11th, 0900h-1200h
Where: Thruxton Motorsport Centre, Thruxton Circuit, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 8PN
Cost: None to attend, but we love biscuits, sweets and Christmas treats…
Spaces: 500
Tickets: Book your place here

Cool booked, should be fun trying to control a rwd E63...

Are passengers allowed, couldn't see anything in the small print.

Hi! We’ll be running it, 6 cars in a group, each on in rotation on the pan so… 5 minutes of looking out of your side windows. It is a really social thing too, good fun to watch others. Click the booking link for more details, it won’t steal your soul to get more details. Promise.

They are indeed! There is no limit on number of passengers or minimum age – just all will have to be in proper seats with seatbelts on thumbup

Skid pan booked too, looking forward to taking one of Mission Motorsport's MX-5s for a spin!

I thought this too. I decided it wasn't, so have also incorporated it into a curry and beers evening on Saturday with some mates who live close by!

Surely both is the best answer? It is for charity...

That's what I meant. Beers, curry, PHSS and skid pan!
