Cupra Sunday Service 23/10

A new host joins the list with space for 350 cars - sign up here!

The Formentor may have been Cupra’s first standalone model in 2020, but the brand has been around for much longer than that. Seat’s high-performance motorsport subsidiary, Cupra Racing (formerly Seat Sport), was originally founded in 1985. Many of us will have fond memories of a Cupra emblazoned hot hatch from the past two decades.

We’re excited to be heading to Cupra’s HQ in Milton Keynes on Sunday October 23rd. They’ll be displaying their full current model range, as well as their heritage fleet. So, whether you want to see the new Born in the flesh to a Mk1 Leon Cupra R, they’ve got you covered.

On top of that, Cupra is celebrating its Leon Cupra K1 model by offering owners an exclusive Authenticity Package which includes a numbered badge bespoke to their car and a certificate of authenticity. Based on the second-generation Leon, just 450 examples were built exclusively for the UK market between 2008 and 2009. Leon Cupra K1 owners who attend Sunday Service will be presented with their Authenticity Package, subject to their vehicle being successfully verified as genuine K1 example on the day.

Of course, there’ll be the usual eclectic mix in the massive car park from you lot, so there’ll be plenty to see for everyone along with the usual breakfast offerings. We’ve got space for 350 cars and as always, please only put your name down if you’re sure you can attend. Sign up here.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Oh gutted I don't own my Cupra K1 anymore. Hope whoever has it gets along to get a token little numbered badge. Sure it will add thousands to the value..... but seriously it was a great car thought they made more than 450 though!

This must be a wind up - might bring my Cupra Formentor - looks the business - except its the 1.5 V2 version - so all show & distinctly average go :-)

Nice to see a number of new members to the Pistonheads forum who own SEAT’s. Surely they’ve not just joined to take advantage of the meet nono

One of the main reasons we organise these events is to help attract new people to PH thumbup

Is it acceptable to turn up in the Focus hire car I currently have due to my Cupra being in the dealer for 3 months waiting on a new infotainment system?

The nice thing about pistonheads events is the variety (as someone with probably the 2nd most common car for this event frown ) however that list is like a seat owners club meet at the moment.

Hopefully we will have no issues with behaviour from those who don’t know how these events are run.

They’re the ones that kind of look like an egg which 9/10 are modified.

I have been organising this with SEAT/CUPRA for over a year and this was how they told us to register for the event.

A shame PH didn’t acknowledge your efforts in their article.

They probably weren't aware, to be honest mate.

I am just over the moon that it's actually happening after all these years. It will also be my first PistonHeads meet too so I am rather excited about that as I've never been one before.

Hi I’ve just joined up here on pistonheads.
Don’t hate me but this is where I got directed to to add my name to list for the Cupra event.
If it’s any consolation I’ve been reading posts on here for years just never signed up.
I just join a forum for whatever car I’m running.
I have a mk1 Leon Cupra R so will be bringing that along for a nice day out.

Fair one. Hopefully you’ll enjoy your day, they're always a great variety and despite some of us being a grumpy bunch on here were nice in person!

I'm the guy that created the original SCN post on how to identify the real K1's many years ago.

I hope not too many K1 owners are disappointed.

I know I was after my K1 dealer demonstrator was classed as non-authentic, because it was built by Letchworth SEAT and not the original subcontractor.

The subcontracted builds would show the conversion kit bring allocated to the vehicle pre-registration. This is how SEAT UK records check the authenticity.

I believe there was a supply and quality issue with the original subcontractor, hence why some dealers built them as demonstrators or to order.

Unfortunately SEAT UK records don't list these, and they are of an unknown quantity.

All a bit of a mess now made worse by authenticity plaques.
