PistonHeads events – have your say
Discussion
With such a long break from organising or being part of any events, we're weighing up our future event strategy and need your help.
Please take a few minutes to help us understand what events you want us to organise and be part of here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RWGKDLV
If you have any further feedback that you feel you couldn't share in the survey, then please share to this thread too.

As a big Subaru fan, I’d love to visit Prodrive.
Unfortunately due to the dangerous driving that we experienced when we were there last, I don't think they'll ever have us back. Such a shame that time and time again these events get ruined for us.Otherwise, thank you to everyone that has completed the survey so far!

That’s why it would be better to let the list only be open to those who have been a member for x months or over a certain post count as I feel more people would be responsible for their actions. However you’ll always get one. Otherwise, thank you to everyone that has completed the survey so far!
Was the same with MBW.

This is a really good idea that I fully support. Making them open to anyone just for a cheap ticket is going to result in idiots. PH member for 3 months and 100+ posts IMO.Was the same with MBW.

It's a good idea although we've definitely had established members driving badly at events in the past too. And while we want our events to primarily be for existing members, we also want to use them to attract new members too.Was the same with MBW.
Done but didn't like the:
Small exclusive or part of larger? question.
It wouldn't let me tick both. Not a fair question. I love the factory/heritage centre tours Vauxhall, Ginetta, Morgan etc. but The Silverstone/Le Mans Classics and of course Le-Mans are also what PH is about.
After filling out the questionnaire I remembered another place worth flagging up on the radar. I went there with the TVR club the Aston Martin Heritage Trust. Teeny Tiny but better for it. It's in a small village in Oxfordshire OX10 7BG

something I've seen done elsewhere is treasure hunts.
Rather than going to one location to park everybody goes to a start point and gets given the next waypoint/destination or a clue to it. People get to see the cars and hear them but you don't get the single choke point and everybody leaving at the same time like static events so there is less incentive for anybody to show off. Ones I've seen, passengers also swap between cars at the waypoints and make donations to a charity.
Perhaps PH could align with a motorsport/automotive charity and charge for attendance to some events?

Thank you for taking a look, we've had hundreds of responses to the survey so have plenty of data and information to help us with our strategy.
Having said that, feel free to add any further thoughts or feedback on this thread as we'll take it all in and have some really helpful qualitative feedback to use.
