Oxted, Surrey meet Wednesday 11th August
Discussion
Hi guys, after a 2 year hiatus the mid-week Holland Sports Car Show is back on in Oxted, Surrey, Wednesday 11th August 2021 19.00-22.00. ( Mill Lane , Oxted, RH8 9DG) The previous 3 events have had a good PH turnout so giving you the heads up early on.
Firstly many moons ago I was the one that started to PH Botley Hill Farmhouse meet, which morphed into the PH Grasshopper Meet, which that delightful chap Umair took over from me and lets not go there...........:-)
Holland Sports is another great local venue. Last time out mid-week ( who does anything meaningful on a Wednesday evening anyhow ? ) we had over 200 cars and motorbikes, 400 people and a superb garden BBQ party atmosphere with music out on the grass.
This time we are stepping it up a bit as apart from the usual excellent reasonably priced BBQ and fully stocked bar, we have legendary DJ Smiley Dean playing a live vinyl set of ska / reggae / soul / rare groove out on the terrace. There will be an area dedicated to bopping about and a Mod scooter chapter will be joining in the fun.
As usual this event is totally FREE and local businesses have sponsored several trophies to be awarded on the night for different categories. Great summer event, and if any local PH'ers want their own dedicated area to park let me know as a few other car clubs have done the same.
Arrive from 18:30 onwards to park up. RH8 9DG All classic / sports / interesting cars welcome.

Any categories for motorbikes?
If I decide to come by car are dogs welcome?
Yes mate, the club themselves have sponsored the “Best Motorcycle” trophy. There is also another trophy for the local kids with the best pushbike! I went and purchased £300 of trophies today on behalf of the local businesses who are supposrting it. And yes, dogs are more than welcome, the venue is a great dog walking venue with a stream they can paddle in if you go down the trail for a few hundred metres, the trail between the skatepark and the 400m running track. Water will also be outside for dogs on the bar terrace as usual. If I decide to come by car are dogs welcome?
There seems to be a lot of interest from car clubs so providing the weather holds it should be very well attended. We are hoping for 250+ vehicles if the weather is kind.

Thanks for the reply.
Now I'm in a quandary. I might have to come down on the bike with the wife following me with the dog in the car. ??
Yes that is a good idea! The weather forecast is looking good, we are expecting 200+ cars and 50+ scooters from a couple of Mod chapters, and hopefully a lot on foot coming to listen to the raregroove / ska / funk DJ. Now I'm in a quandary. I might have to come down on the bike with the wife following me with the dog in the car. ??

Do we need to register to attend or just rock up at 18.30 and find a patch to park?
Hi Rob, no just arrive and I will be on the gate. We are planning to park up pre-1980, pre-2000 & Post-2000 as the main groups as well as a few car clubs separate . You will be parked up in the relevant group. The first cars arriving that make my jaw drop will be invited onto the front lawn in front of the clubhouse and the DJ . The mods scooters and motor cycles will also have their own areas. If the cars are parked neatly I think we can fit just under 300 vehicles in their allowing free movement to come and go still.
Hopefully see you there, any PH’ers make yourself known to me 😎👍

Excellent - many thanks for the reply. I'll be firmly in the post-2000 group with a GR Yaris but I'm not sure it'll be making the front lawn!and the DJ . That'll make two GR Yaris' going, though mine won't be shiny....I don't have time to wash it and the recent rain has meant the roads round me are covered in crap
I’ve just dragged a dirty cloth over mine to at least make it look vaguely presentable as the front end was caked 1” thick in Devons finest insects from a road trip two weeks ago. Gassing Station | Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
