Has anyone done one of these activity days for £60?

The website Says there are 2 track layouts. I have tried to look online but haven't seen much of exactly how the day is run.

It seems there is effectively 2 larger autocross tracks laid out, and you go one at a time for timed laps.
Is it free reign to drift / slide the course as much as you want?
Are the days any good and anything to know before hand?

Was planning to go and see off the tyres i have now as planning to change them.

The oringinal Car Limits sadly has, but the instructor (Mark) has set up as "Drive Limits" running similar days, which is good: http://drivelimits.com/
(Note the site isn't ready for bookings yet as per the note)

With regards to the original question, it's a mix of bits - Some practice on the high speed bend there, and then as you say, the choice of some track layouts.

There are two versions, one longer and one shorter, but on the days they'll usually do a decision as to what people would prefer doing in the afternoon (i.e. running short track only so everyone has more gos at that rather than resetting etc)

Usually, Over the lunch hour you can go and have a general play on the open area, depending on what others are doing.

Im not sure about the financial side but the Car limits website is up and running and has dates available for this year.

https://www.carlimits.com/script/viewEvents.php?ty...

To be clear this is not the small group teaching days of up to 4 people but instead more like a TrackdayLite / mini autocross sessions.

We wish you all good health and hope to see you soon.
On one of the advanced driving threads someone did mention recieving papers from an administrator.

As for the above, that is based on what we did at the activity day smile

Well played, naturally my google search took me straight to the calendar page.
I will keep my eyes on it then. It seems the days are being run, and the training sessions are being booked up but i will wait until closer to the time before committing.

If you've paid monies you might want to try and get them back, as Carlimits Ltd is in liquidation - https://find-and-update.company-information.servic...

Sad news for Car Limits. I hope Walshy's doing ok.

Mark's a great instructor. Whatever banner he's working under, you'd have a great and very worthwhile day with him.

I have done a couple of these in the past, they are good fun.

The surface at North Weald can throw up quite a bit of grit - My chums Caterham paintwork got a bit peppered as did my C63, so not best suited to the garage queens out there

Thanks for all the replies.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have tyres changed there?
I have approx 3mm left on the rears which I imagine will be pushed to their limit by the end of the day, so just in case i get a bit carried away, i am looking to either take a pair of wheels or easier if just a pair of tyres.

Have tried calling, just waiting on confirmation that the day is going ahead and going to book.

There's a fairly large open area which could surely be used by a mobile fitter if they're willing to come along, but wheels might be easier.

How much tread you get through will depend on the car really; I'd have thought with 3mm left you'd be alright to get home if you're not far at the very least - Depends on how you manage the tyre temps mostly, as those on the outside particularly will get hot quite quickly with successive use - Any compounds that aren't up to taking the heat may give up (I've been on the edge of PS4 / PS4S temps).

So while the text on carlimits website has updated, I called them and they are still in liquidation.

As a side, Andrew Walsh is often touted as an ex FF Champion, Formula Renault and European Formula Renault Champion, even an ex_Benneton F1 test driver who crashed a Benetton F1 heavily in the UK. Has anyone got any info on when he competed in them and was champion?
