Does anyone know if this is planned to happen this year? I called the Phoenix but they don’t know. Great, low key event and I usually turn up with a convoy of friends. We’ll probably hold a run ourselves in any case (rules permitting) but it would be good to have a focal point...

Yes, I went last year and it was really good. Even though I am in tier 4 I think I might be OK if I seek exercise there.

Thanks, do you know contact details of the organisers so we can check with them nearer the time too?

Sorry, I have no idea. I got wind of it from someone in the barge thread last year as I'd never heard if it. It might be that there is no official organiser and folk just turn up as is tradition.

Yes, because of that and the fact it so low key, I’m sure people will go anyway - unless we’re in total lockdown by then...

There is no formal organiser. The pub usually does coffee and bacon rolls but I can't see how they will be able to do that with proper Covid restrictions in place. As we are all now in Tier 4 I hope people use their common sense and stay away. There is no way people can stay 2 mtrs away from each other, especially chatting and milling around in the crowded pub car park.

Maybe if people are “ in the area exercising “ they will wear masks and keep it low key and no unacceptable driving,, I suggest?

We’ve actually decided to head west instead, we’re in either T2 or 3 so heading into T4 not a great idea. Have socially distanced fun if anyone does show up!

Tier 4 is more or less 'Lockdown' - I do hope the classic fraternity do not prove to be as stupid as those muppets on Boxing Day shopping!

This is my line of thinking. There are some decent walks nearby. The Phoenix could still offer takeaway bacon rolls. I'll decide on the morning whether to take a drive over.

Did anyone take “ exercise “ in the area?
