"Lads Night", Hair and Pie
Discussion
Following some interest in the "worst first dates" thread, this is just a quick gauge of interest for the potential of a "Hair and Pie" meet in central London. Would probably be on a Friday night starting in a still to be determined Boozer around the Liverpool Street area then deteriating down hill rapidly towards Shoreditch taking in numerous pubs with live entertainment en route before being thrown out of "Browns" and ending up in the "Hairy Axe Wound". Also the night has the potential to take in a "Curry" or maybe carry on till the really wee small hours clubbing.
Suggestions ??????
Oh yes sorry to the lady Ph ers but feel free to organise your own "Ann Summers and Pie" if you so wish.

......I still prefer "Pie & Gash" but will play the party line.
Either the Pitcher & Piano on Bishopsgate or DD's would be a good meeting point as a) most City based people know them and b) for 'country folk' they are opposite Liverpool St Station/Tube.
Maybe we could go on to Metropolis for a night cap ?

I'm on for it. The route you suggest sounds fertile
I only know Browns Metropolis and 10 Bells so am not qualified to sort out the detail. As a suggestion, as we are sort of pub crawling and not spending too long in each, it might be wise to avoid (or more likely time the visiting of) those places that charge an entry (ooh err) fee.
Is the carpet at Browns still sticky? Quality

unfortunately Browns has gone all up market and it's lost some of it's character.
There is a pub on the way up on the left hand side called the "Duchess of Norfolk" (or something like that) that is very very downmarket, they tend to specialise in freaks and the elderly.......(the acts not the clientele)

I was in the area for a stag night a couple of weeks back. The Dutchess of Norfolk place (or whatever it was called) has closed I think, Ye Old Axe is a real dive but worth a look (Hackney Road). Browns is indeed quite upmarket, we were in there for an hour and there was more interest in the football match being shown than the girls. Rainbow Sports Bar down the road is a bit more like it - though still ropey as hell.

Bring plenty of £1 coins !
Use 25pences, but just drop two in at a time, without revealing whats in your hand!! And which "other" pub are you referring to just around the corner from Browns? There are two, one is bad (Crap) and the other is a freak show! Old women with red patches all over the place. Yuk!!! She actually thought I would drop 25p in her cup (so to speak).
Be careful, its enough to put you off getting old.
25th Done
Sorry Podie but go the day before, The Telegraph day still has the two for one offer and hopefully shouldn't be so full of peasants blagging brochures. I'm like N17 once we get into November Fri/Sat nights get a bit busy with the party season. Besides it actually appeals more to have it pre BT&P.
