Lockdown and driving events latest.
Discussion
Hi all.
What’s peoples thoughts of going out for ‘group drives’ now that we are now allowed to drive more and head for ‘beauty spots’ and popular areas?
I’ve been looking to organise a day tour for around 40-50 cars in place of our postponed 2020 event. Question would be, when would people start to feel comfortable getting out with others again? Please note, i am not advocating that we all head out this weekend, I mean late-summer.
I was thinking of creating a day drive which would be ‘contactless’ of sorts, and what I mean by that is that planned routes could be accessed from peoples phones digitally, driving to an assembly point and not needing to exit the vehicle or being able to do so with enough space that a two-metre rule could be easily adhered to. And a reversal for a sort of ending point. Incorporating whatever we can that’s allowed at that point.
It won’t please everyone and of course, I wouldn’t plan to. It’s an unrealistic expectation. None of my events will ever aim to as they are a little more niche than the norm. What I’d like to do is plan something for the guys who are dying to get back out for a bit of driving on a great route who are happy to stick to some rules. I think as we begin to ease restrictions, we need to find a way of getting events back on the calendar for this year.
Some feedback is much appreciated. Ideas and suggestions welcomed, constructive-critism useful!
Thanks all.

I think you are asking for unwelcome attention and are pushing the spirit of if not the real though slightly ambiguous law of what driving to a destination for exercise means.
Knock yourself out, you'll be the one taking the wrap, especially when they find out you have a business centred on driving events.
