The Spa Classic (22-24 May) is still on according to the organisers, Peter Auto. Are they living in a different world to the rest of us?

I cannot see any way that this can proceed due the continuing spread of Covid-19 and the consequent travel restrictions, which will affect both spectators and drivers/entrants.

When will they make the inevitable decision and postpone or cancel?

Unsurprisingly - I had a Ticketmaster email confirming the cancellation today.

Nothing on the Peter Auto website though..

Peter Auto have informed the competitors though, I got copied in because my friend was racing and I was going to help out in the pit crew frown.

Had an email today confirming it is cancelled and will not be rescheduled for 2020. The last time I checked there was a Facebook announcement and I think the main website has now been updated.

We are all booked for ferries, accommodation etc for the trip.

I’m trying to work out the best process for minimal losses on cancellation. If we cancel bookings then we lose.
If the ferries get cancelled or travel is blocked then we have legit reason for cancel.

I don’t know if it’s travel insurance, insurance via Visa card...

I’ll sort it eventually.

And we were going to go in the Mighty Datsun 240Z. It’s all prepped and ready to go.

For various reasons we didn't book early as usual, so fortunately nothing lost. I was very much looking forward to going, but it was inevitable this was going to happen.
