Hi all,

I will be stopping at the Nurburgring on Tuesday as part of a road trip through Germany in a TVR Chimaera.

I’ve heard that some people are happy to take out passengers in their car for a lap or two. Has anyone ever tried this or know if it’s not the ‘done thing’.

Thanks,
Alex

It's very odd to ask random people.

But yes you can just ask and hope for a friendly.

I don’t think it’s odd to ask.

I’ve asked before and made new friends.

I mean it's odd to just go up to random people and ask.

I know as I've done it before :-)

Nope, still don’t think it’s odd.

I’m not one for shyness though.

It's fine to ask and most will be happy to oblige . I've jumped in with countless people and as mentioned , made new friends , one guy we bump into every year and he's a 24 hour race veteran , which made my first couple of passenger laps with him interesting to say the least , it's also a good way to learn the ins and outs of the track if you hit on lucky with an experienced driver . Take a crash helmet if you have one and your serious about blagging a few lifts , some of the more serious drivers insist on one if they have a roll cage fitted .
I've taken loads of passengers around over the years , however they usually get out disappointed !

If you're turning up in a TVR then drive it yourself?
