Evening all,

Just wondering if anyone has been/is going to Wings and Wheels this year?
Can't see any mention of it.

I went last year and found it a pretty enjoyable day out. Has a more, shall we say, rustic charm than some of the other shows I've been to, but thought the mix of cars and aircraft made for a good day.

I'm down for the motoring demo this year so hoping that'll be a bit of fun.

I've been marshalling the event for many years but this final year it clashes with the Brooklands double twelve two day event so Brooklands won't be running the paddock and motoring demonstrations. It's a good event and I'm sure it will be special as it's the last.

Ok great.

So is it a drag the a poodle back to the start or does the run take in the whole circuit?

Cheers,

David.

It's just a straight drag (1/2mile-ish?).

Last year they ran the morning session with just one car at a time, the afternoon session two at a time.

Are they still expecting Motoring demo cars to pay to enter?

I think that was introduced to help prevent no shows (or so I read somewhere). Agree it should be free if you’re bringing your car.

I'll be there this year doing runs.

I stopped going after they introduced the fee (which is ridiculous), but seeing as this is the last year, and it is a really good day out, I'll be there.

£20 to enter the motoring demo for which you receive 2x entry tickets to the whole event inc a 5 hour air show.

Pretty good value in my view.

Considering going as a spectator. Been a few years since I have been but I remember sitting in the queuing traffic for most of the morning and similar when leaving the car park. Has this been improved in recent years?

Also, anyone know how pushchair friendly the surface is, with the recent weather?

Were you in the sort of burgundy Elise? I forgot to say hi - I was in the M Coupe in front of you in one of the runs.

Nope, I was in the blue Elise right down the far end of the paddock. The only time I spotted you at you car was when we went out for the demo otherwise i woukd have said hi!
