Silverstone Classic – PistonHeads display – we need you!
Discussion
We're very excited to announce that we're a partner to the Silverstone Classic (26-28 July) this year.
We'll be taking over the Paddock Cafe to bring the PistonHeads pub, the Pie & Piston, back to life at the heart of the event. As part of our 300 car display area for eligible cars, we've got space for a rather special 'PistonHeads icon' display.
We need 20 cars to park outside the Pie & Piston that epitomise PistonHeads. Ideally we'd like you to attend for all three days (you can drive in and out each day but under restricted times) and these applications will be prioritised, but we'll also consider those who might only be able to attend for one or two. Our chosen cars will receive two free tickets for the duration that they're on display plus a PH goodie bag.
So what are we looking for? Ideally we want a set of cars that encapsulate PistonHeads, be it a classic or modern. We're thinking along the lines of (in no particular order):
- TVRs
- Porsche 911 GT3
- Lancia Delta Integrale
- Peugeot 205 GTI
- Ferraris
- Renaultsport Megane R26R/Trophy R
- Volvo 850R
- Audi R8
- BMW M3
- Mercedes-AMG C63
- Mazda MX-5 Mk1
- Lotuses
- Aston Martin Vantage
- Noble M12
- Caterham Seven
- Alpine
- Subaru Impreza
- Mitsubishi Evo
- Land Rover Defender
- Nissan Skyline/GT-R
- McLarens
- Ford Escort
- Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
- Lamborghinis
- Plus anything else you think we've missed that would be relevant
How to apply
If you're free 26-28 July and have something you think we'd be interested in, please post a photo below with some basic details and the days that you're free to attend. Those with a Readers' Car thread may be favoured, so post a link to your thread if you have one too.
Please submit applications by the 22nd April and we'll notify everyone of the selection on here shortly after.

I have a choice for you that meet your requirements for PHness.
'71 Lotus Elan Sprint
'99 Caterham Superlight R
Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 (manual, natch)
Land Rover Defender 90 XS Station Wagon
I can be there all days 26-28 July, though I can only drive one up at a time.
Saying that, I could bring the Defender with either the Elan or Caterham on a trailer....

Ginetta: Now the longest/oldest continuously British Owned and Made British Sports car.
I'll be there all weekend. She's a 1995 (No'98 of the 98 made) G33 RV8 (4ltr) running on a modified TVR tune, high lift road cam approx 260hp on an 800kg car with no traction control, no ABS (not even a servo!) and no launch control. Just a light (beautiful) British car, a V8 and a driver, what more does one need?
Camping so the car will be on site all day every day.

I'd be happy to display my 1997 Mazda MX5 Mk1 on the Sunday:
Thread about it: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... - that reminds me to update it over the next couple of days!

My car is not on the list but may be of interest, being an iconic and relatively unique 90's sports car from the land of the rising sun. I can attend all days but I am equally happy to attend only one or two to share the days with others if chosen.
The car is relatively standard bar the "usual" mods: coilovers, exhaust, ecu/boost controller and the slightly rare Mazdaspeed alloys. I have not started a readers' car thread as I have not done an awful lot to it since importing it last year, other than servicing, changing the wheels and visiting many petrol stations
