Honda Sunday Service review

A limited invitation but Honda put on a great show for the PHers it was able to accommodate!

A sunny Sunday Service? Whatever next?! After a week of unsettled weather Sunday dawned bright and clear, much to everyone's relief. Matt having pinched the Mugen Civic - more on that soon - we'd been loaned for the event I took his GT86, which seems to have loosened up nicely with a few Scottish miles under its belt.

We must extend a huge thanks to the Honda team for their display of heritage cars and providing the sandwiches and hot drinks - very much appreciated! It didn't take long for the cars to arrive, with everything from a Corvette Stingray to a Passat W8 and Clio V6 making an appearance. Diversity is always the name of the game at a Sunday Service and it was pleasing to see that continue at Honda. There were even a few red 'H' badges on display...

Some pics by our man Ben below for you - we would like to thank all those that attended and also Honda for hosting this first Sunday Service at its UK HQ. See you next time!

It's my brothers, quite rare for him to post though. It was there as the understudy for my DC5 that couldn't make it !

I've sent him a link saying he's being spoken about smile -- it's a real shame that Honda seem to 'under-wheel' their cars, 17x8 with a decent offset makes a big difference to both EP3 and DC5.

Yes been looking at the Evo wheels for mine, so that is why it caught my eye. Is it lowered at all?

Like you I was also a bit disappointed to find that no new NSX was present. Would like a serious look at one. A bit of Q & A with a nice Honda UK marketing person revealed that they've only just started taking orders and there may not be many around until we get into 2016.

That said , nice SS and some very interesting PH'ers to talk to this time. It's easier to spot the interesting cars/people when the group is smaller than usual.

Apparently, the new NSX is not even in the UK , and under tight security in Japan - Would have been nice to see !!!!

Great meet though, very chilled.

Apparently not..... If you follow the #nsxontour thing, it's doing the rounds in the States, this is where the delay has come from, they came across some issues while on tour.

Also as they had a standing model at Goodwood, it still would've been a good thing to show it in the metal

As it is being made in Ohio by Acura (well most of it - the engine block is being made by Cosworth, maybe in the UK, possibly in the US), Honda Japan has relatively to do with the manufacture of the next NSX. The latest explanation for the launch delay is to do with switching from a transverse V6 to a longitudinal V6 about 18 months ago. Apparently, the first 200 will be delivered to US customers before Xmas, scrap that, Easter, but only 1000 for the entire year. I doubt that the UK will receive it's first cars for another 12 months.
