Anyone coming along to this?

http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/events/...

Given it's not even outside the M25, I don't think I have any excuse not to attend.

Sorry to anyone in South West London if I wake you up en route biggrin

Im tempted... Ive been to one or two of the events at Brooklands and been a little dissapointed by the turn out... is this the big event as they hold a 2nd one later in the year and it might be that it is the smaller event?

I've not been, it was actually my brother in law who put me onto it. Brooklands' website reads:

"One of the biggest events of the year at Brooklands celebrating the UK’s obsession with all things Italian"

When I spoke with Auto Italia's editor with whom this event is organised, he said that it tends to be a full capacity day. Their website reads:

"Developed over the last 28 years in association with Auto Italia magazine, the Italian Car Day has become established as the UK’s premier event for owners and admirers of Italian cars."

Hope that is of some help. It's only a quick strop out of London for me and the car is all prepped and ready for Goodwood on the Sunday anyway.

My car isn't Italian so I'll just be visiting, but I will be popping along smile.

I missed it last year due to having something else on, but the previous couple of years when I've been it's always been very very busy. Loads of modern Ferraris of course and Fiats too, but usually a good selection of older cars and various other Italian cars.

As well as the static displays the parade laps around MBW are always fun to watch/listen to - they usually pick up the pace on the long straight. The test hill action is often interesting too (not the most grippy of surfaces though).

Thanks smile - I was hoping there'd be a Pantera or two at the event as they look and sound fantastic so great to hear there will be at least one!

Alas I'll miss the track and test hill action as I've got to head off elsewhere at lunchtime but I'll be busy with my camera in the morning.

yes I remember something (think it was a GT3RS) getting considerable air at the top followed by a horrible crunch on landing!

I was going to attend. I've been looking forward to it for weeks, especially as I missed last year's show. However, we've got visitors over from France and according to the Boss, taking them to a car show is not a good idea and we will be going to Windsor castle instead..

It was outstandingly busy - lots of great cars on show. "Big Blue" looked fantastic - loved the engine smile. The sun was rather bright and it was very busy, which is fun to be in but sucks a bit for photography in terms of harsh light and getting clean shots! I'm still working through my photos from last weekend's PH Sunday Service though so it might be a while before I tackle the Auto Italia ones to find out how they came out.

I'm not going to forget in a hurry the noise/sight/smell of that airplane engined car being started up (27 litre V12?) and I wasn't even standing anywhere near it!
