Well to be honest l always look forward to this show, a place to catch up with friends and see the latest developments in the sport industry, but saying all that, I thought this years show was really lacking any originality. Same manufacturers positioned in exactly the same place as previous years.
As for PIstonheads stand! Er what Pistonheads stand? I always look forward to meeting members of PH Towers, but all I saw was a line up of members cars, no stand whatsoever, no one to talk to, nothing? What the fk is going on, Haymarket cutbacks? So to sum the event up this year ......disappointing frown

£31 ticket + £2 booking fee + £10 parking = £43

I don't think so.

It was a good show
I only paid £11 for tickets thru Tesco points, shared the fuel & parking etc with a couple of friends, means it only costs me £35 to go for the day

The show was pretty standard, I only go every 2-3 years and to be honest not much had changed.

The live action arena was disappointing, no new cars, no big names just a lot of stock cars driving for 2 minutes at a time. The most impressive were the MotoX stunt team.

Would I go again....probably. But it needs more input, its getting smaller.

Also where the hell were Pistonheads ?
They headline the event branding and yet just have a line up of owners cars. I organise better car meets than that on a wet sunday in cornwall. The last time I went they had a whole hall to themselves.
Obviously too busy taking money off people to fill the classifieds section with non-PH cars.

I would like to hear some feedback from PH as to why they did not bother with a focal point at this years show?

I have to agree with the above comments.

The live show was very cringe worthy, the drifting was ok and it's good to see the different variations in motorsport (stock car racing etc) that maybe isn't always given the same exposure as F1/touring cars etc, however the time would have been better spent telling us more about the cars themselves and how to get involved, even a run down of circuts that they race at.

The motocross guys were the best part of the live shoe by far, 5 mins more of them rathwer than the idle chit chat at the beginning would have been good!

In regards to pistonheads, the row of cars was great to see, very interesting but there was no one to talk to.

I ended up talking to an old boy at one of the tuining stands, the 10mins I had chatting to him about his upgraded AM vantage was very interesting and made me realise how much I would jump at the chance at going back to my engineering roots career wise, (I just wished I can remember the company name - based in Somerset?)

Another thing which annoyed, however not related to the show organisers in any way really was the rude chaps at the stand for the company who build the F1 hospitality suits. Their stand was dead, a mate of mine waled over and asked a few questions about the size of the things in an attempt to maybe have a peek inside. They responded by looking away and completely ignoring him - pretty shock at that!

The highlight for me was the Caterham guys with their passanger experiance. This was incredible and for the £12.50, worth every penny and cheered us up for the rest of the day. The drivers who were drifting around all day were chatty and happy to be asked questions about the cars, their drifting and the company even through they were drifting around the track non stop for hours on end. This was an exceptional part of the show.

All in all, for the price of the ticket, car park fee and of course getting there in the first place it was a dissapointing show.

Might have agreed with the above, except me and a mate took an 11yr old foster child, and this changed my outlook somewhat!

Probably a £300 day for me, worth every single penny to see him laughing, clapping his hands and stamping his feet through that live show. Hel did like those bikers, but simply loved those V8 stock cars and the wheelieing autocross cars

It wasn't that much cop really. Expensive for what it was and £10 for car parking is taking the mick. Heaven only knows why Pistonheads put their name to the 'Performance Car show' . There weren't many interesting cars on show (and probably less than last year). That part of the show had a right mish-mash of stuff and frankly I've seen more interesting motors at my local village car show. Garishly modified Range Rovers and... Well it was all so forgettable really. Oh yes, a trade stand with a bloke constantly washing a Fiat 126 with some sort of bucket and brush contraption. I remember that.

I don' t know what the large numbers of blokes with cameras with frankly enormous lenses actually found worthwhile snapping.

The live action arena was the highlight although this was largely the same as last year. Poor visibility in my part of the arena and what the heck was the Q&A session all about??

Come on Pistonheads - fantastic website but if you are going to put your name to something like this at least make sure it's worthwhile - your absence suggests you think likewise...

My mate & I travelled up from the South Coast today (i've just got back). Pretty much a disappointment for me on a number of fronts. I last went two years ago.

The parking seems to have gone up again.

The admission is now £34 for just a basic ticket. Seriously Haymarket that is starting to take the piss. I will certainly not be coming back at these price points.

The show also seemed a lot smaller, and the crowds were definately smaller today (Sunday).

I know there is a recession on and whilst that understandably means traders are finding it tough the continued price increases seem to just ignore this.

Oh - and the NEC is starting to look really f**king shabby these days.
