I was there at the "GP of Mud" a few years ago. We arrived at the campshite on Friday and had a tractor-tow to our pitch. When we left on the Sunday we had a tractor-tow out. We were in the Corrado and I was convinced we were going to have our front air-dam ripped off due to it becoming a mud-plough. Somehow we managed to avoid damage, but the car did become an interesting shade of mud.
Even the 4x4 cars were getting tractor-towed. What a laugh!
On another campshite they had some sort of Toyota 4x4 pickup truck whose wheels had been replaced with tank-style tracks.
A quick Google search turned these pics up:

Uh-oh...
Just had a word with a very helpful person there...it is apparently fairly muddy and "quite rutted in places" and that's before the really heavy traffic turns up. They have put some of that plastic tracking down so access should be ok, but obviously they can't cover whole fields in the stuff.
Anyone know where the tow points are on a Chimaera ?!?
Seriously, if anyone who's been today could report back on conditions it'd be a big help...!
Cheers,
Alex.

I went today. (Wifes Golf I'm afraid) It was not too bad. I parked in the West car park. A couple needed towing on the way in, but when I left they had put down a lot more metal sheets and I saw no one having any problems. With the weather forcast being good you should have no worries.
Paul.

Just got back from today's (Saturday's) event. It was a bit hairy going in to carpark 'S' as the Chimaera grounded a couple of times on the rutted dirt drack we were forced to go in on and we had a worrying slither down a muddy hill.
However, the weather has been absolutely glorious today, and by the time we left it had dried out nicely so the ground was firm. Also, the way we went out was tarmac for the majority of the way so was far less of a worry than going in.
If we can remember how to get back in that way tomorrow then we'll give it a go, otherwise we'll have another go at removing that exhaust.

Got home this afternoon from "Glorious Goodwood" - 4 of us, 2 Tivs (Griff 500 and Tuscan S6) - went Friday and Saturday and really enjoyed the Festival. Friday was WET, very VERY WET - we followed the Griff in, it slid, we slid (but not that bad really)and we asked the marshal if there was a tractor to tow us out! Don't know why he looked blank, we were serious!
Know folks don't like taking their pride and joy out in the mud but we were surprised to see so few TIVs on the East car parks on both days and Sat was fine! Where were they? Anyway, didn't need a tow - just headed out across country avoiding the ruts - darned cars a mess though, it'll take a lot of Autoglym and elbow grease to sort it!!!
