NEC Dream Rides - Lamborghinis Ferraris Astons E-Types ….
Discussion
Fancy a ride out in some of the most amazing cars ever made this weekend ?
.. then get along to the NEC Classic Motor Show this Friday 15th through to Sunday 17th and book your Dream Ride in Hall 11.
Last year over 100 owners of some seriously exotic machinery spent the day giving rides in their cars raising a total of £32,000 for children's charities. Donations cost £15 to £30 for most of the cars, rising to £50+ for the ultimate hypercars.
100% of the money raised goes directly to charity and all members volunteer their cars and time. There is no limit to how many rides you book but to avoid disappointment book early in the day!
But its not just about exotics from Italy, there's also a selection of futuristic cars and classics from a bygone era to choose from. Here's a taster of what the Sporting Bears members have provided this year:-
• Lamborghini Aventador Roadster (Sat + Sun)
• McLaren MP2-12C (Sat only)
• Ferrari California
• Nissan GTR
• Tesla Roadster EV (Sun only)
• Aston Martin DB9 and Vantages
• Lotus Europa, Elite and Elise
• Audi R8
• Selection of Ferrari's
• Selection of Morgan's from the factory
• Selection of TVR's
• Selection of Jaguar's including E Type's
• Bentley CGT convertible for roof down cruising (subject to weather !)
• Ford Capri Brooklands 280
• Austin Healey
• 1961 VW camper van !
• …
• … up to 100 cars will be available for each of the 3 days, Saturday being the busiest.
(Note:- Most cars will be only available for one of the three days).

Thats me 3rd one up (Silver T350)
I've done this the last 5 years, unfortunately I'm having a few bits and pieces upgraded so I won't be there this year and I'm gutted. As a driver I love this event, the enthusiasm of all the bears is incredibly infectious and the public love it!!
As Carparticus states, not a penny of the money raised goes to the drivers (I spent £100 in petrol alone each day I was there), 100% going to the bears charities.
To those going to the show - open your wallets and have a drive in whatever takes your fancy, from a Model T through to an Aventador theres something to suits all tastes and budgets!
To the drivers - enjoy - I'm really jealous.
To the rest of the bears volunteers - you all do an amazing job, keep at it and I'll hopefully see you next year....
I know it's super late but I've only just seen this. Would love to get involved on Saturday. I've sent a couple of emails to people I think are relevant on the off chance that there is still space and it's not too late! If there is space for one more I would love to bring my Noble M12 down for some Dream Rides.

That's my Elise in the first photo, and I'll be there again this year on Sat'day afternoon and all day Sunday. Top event and huge fun for both drivers and passengers.
Hi Gareth
thought I recognised that car when I first saw the pics. Should be good weather for you this weekend as well - enjoy

Is it possible to go for just a couple of hours first thing? Thinking of taking the Phantom and supporting the bears.
Whilst your support would be welcome, unfortunately all drivers have to pre-register with obligatory liability matters sorted out such as written confirmation from your insurer that you are covered for the nature of the event. Can I suggest you become a member of SC and support us at the dozen or more 2014 Dream Ride events ?
in theory it is possible IF written conformation can be provide of insurance - say if the insurer has a stand at the show and you could join the club at the show
the club just asks that you do a minimum of 4 rides per day (if you're booked)
see the links at the bottom of this page http://sportingbears.co.uk/index.php/view/cat/17/d...
and of course the club does more than SBDR events, we have tours and runs and the annual Kimbolton day

will be there in the Sagaris again this year for the 3 days, really looking forward to it, weather doesn`t look to bad either, so fingers crossed for dry roads and lots of fun.
Shame you cant make it this year Zippi, is it really because the nicer looking ladies prefer the sag?
Just tried to show someone a pic of the Sag I went out in today, didn't realise you were a PH'er Clive - thanks again for the blast Shame you cant make it this year Zippi, is it really because the nicer looking ladies prefer the sag?

Had an Absolutely fantastic day yesterday, went out in a Stunning white Austin Healey 3000.
Thank you very much Paul, pleasure to meet you and your wonderful car.
Did anyone get any pics of the white "dream rides" Healey 3000 please?
I took a few from inside it out on road but none of it from the outside
