Hi All,

My Dad's birthday is coming up and I was thinking of getting him a driver experience day in the UK for a present. Any recommendations/one's to steer clear of? Preferably ones not too far from London, don't want to stress the old man too much smile.

Cheers

PS My first PH post! smile

it might not be in the spirit of it but yer uld man will be pleased by the practical thinking

which ever company or track shop around on the price as deals are often done through second, third fourth parties including loyalty schemes (I'd don't, quadruple point on Tesco?) and sometimes these gift companies

if you can only go at popular times obviously your chances might diminished but if he's more flexible then spaces need to be filled more

ETA: oh, and welcome

I did an Everyman Experience at the Top Gear track 4 months ago....It was ....OK but not great. A LOT of waiting around, over 400 drivers on the day! Over 35 cars, felt very much like you were part of a big money making exercise. The first car Ferrari 360 F1 was VERY tired and very slow! The second car was a Gallardo Spider (all the cars had paddle shift). When the instructor realised I could drive he let me drive pretty much as fast as I wanted which was nice. However, just 4 laps in each car! I bought mine as a gift for my son who couldn't make it so I filled in for him. I think your best bet would be an evening track day novice experience, they start from just £25 at most of the MSV tracks and he can do that in his own car.

I done the above recently - found it very good, the tuition was spot on and your always encouraged to go faster, brake later and I was by now means being slow with it.
Minimal waiting around, staff friendly and instructors a delight too.
