Well done SimonT, Don and Whatever in organising the Pie & Drive II.
Unaccustomed as I am to public modesty.....and on behalf of SimonT and Whatever....you are welcome.
Thanks all of you for coming. And also a special thanks to CarZee for valiantly ensuring the tail end of the convoy didn't get lost...!
Thanks to all of you who brought your cars and added an attraction to the Vernham Dean fete. It was also very fine to get a chance to see some unusual cars like the loveley Marcos and TWO Ultimas. I'm afraid I left it to GregE240 (and Mrs) to ensure that Porsche was represented.
I do hope the fete-goers enjoyed their chance to view the cars - I know a few of the younger lads practically fainted with excitement at our entrance..
I had a great time. See you all again soon.
A good day out well organised again thanks Don et al.
The run out was a good blat; the temptation for the black Ultima (john?) not to blat passed Anne’s Taz down some of the roads must have been difficult to resist. The thought did pass my mind half a dozen cars back when it was as clear as the eye could see , but the embarrassment of being overhauled again by the big boys kept me in my place
The Moroccan at the fete was something else, almost Paul Daniels-esq .
Carzee no phots posted yet? who'll be the first to get some on PH .
Ted would be proud of the free advertising at the fete, not that you need a mass influx of 12 year olds logging on and posting (there's enough of us for that already )
Until the next time
Harry

Just thought I'd re-iterate what I said in the old thread:
What a fab day out! Once again the North Hants (and further afield!) PHers came out in force!
Thanks to everyone who turned up today for not making Don, SimonT and me look like a trio of idiots, thanks to the sun for appearing for 90% of the day and thanks to Simon for suggesting attending the fete (where everyone seemed very interested in the cars). Well done to Don, too, for his superb oranisational skills (not to mention car park marshalling).
Looking forward to the next one -- pie at the beach?

It's in hand, Harry
Baaaa! Scenic circumstances for a PH meet-up.
Never seen one before - Wow!
Some cars - there were too many to get them all in one shot even with a wideangle lens!!!
Peeps avec les moteurs..
A late but welcome entry. Don and I heard an engine and said to each other "No - no room for anyone else." When we saw it was another Ultima we nearly fell over ! It had to come straight to the front of the class.
Probably the best of very few shots I managed to rattle off during the run.
I've got these and lots more in bigger formats - I am gonna have a go at hemming together a complete shot of the front of Worting House - The Money Shot!
More on me webshite once I've got this alarmingly busy weekend out of the way!
Good job I don't have to work for a living

And quite a bit of it was down hill , time to engage the 'down hill turbo'.
It wasn't holding me up so to speak, it was just the thought of sitting in the black Ultima whilst watching the red GTR one disappearing over the horizon and a mile or two later seeing them waiting at the virtual u-turn having stopped for 20 B&H and a chat whilst we caught up , nice drive though, beautiful scenery.
Look forward to the next one, perhaps the 'pie and beach' down at Hayling.
Harry
Just to echo previous posts, but well done to all for a top day out.
Mrs Greg took about 30 pics, I'll get them up on my webspace as soon as I get some time. Fab weather, fab cars. The noise of those Ultimas was incredible ! And as for the engine bays - Paul and Guy you should be proud of yourselves - what wonderful cars.
Oh, Don - at P & D III, if you say "Gentlemen, start your engines" again, Mrs Greg promises to jump out and clout you one !
Great to meet everyone and have a good drool at some of England's finest machinery
EDIT - Mrs G made some kid's day by letting him start and rev the Porsche - mother ran up and exclaimed "Oh, you've done it now......"

A massive thank you to all who turned out It was a great day. I am now the hero of all the kids in the village because I have so many friends with 'cool' cars
The fete went really well and I have been asked to pass on the thanks of the fete commitee to all the people who came along
Big up! to Don and Keith for the organisation
Simon
Ps Next year we were thinking of arranging for people to camp over on the Saturday night so they can join in the evening celebrations as well. Good idea??
PPS. Did anyone get caught in the speed trap about a mile out of the village - Local Bobby, belss him

Fortunately as I passed the afore-mentioned speed trap, a spotty teenager with a scooter was receiving a ticking off. Seemed to require the Fiesta & Police Van to administer the relevant ticket!
Great day out, many thanks one and all!
Jarcy - We too had the fortune of seeing Mr Local Bobby with the Mr Spotty Teenager giving him a hard time. I'm sure I could see his hands shaking as he filled out the ticket! Probably the highlight of the year for him.
Soooooo tempted to lay-sum-rubber as I drove past but bottled it ...ah well, next time maybe, now that would have made his career.

So whose was the 968 CS then? Nice black one.
My 964RS is arriving tomorrow, finally, so will be ready to line up at the next one.
Thanks to Don for organising, sorry couldn't chat to all (Greg E240 I missed and I chat with him regularly!), maybe should get a name badge or novelty T shirt.
Special thanks to adamb for taking me along for the day and for bluesatin (Guy) for talking Ultimas with me. Definitely the next car, double garage permitting.
