The Supercar Event

Special deals for PHers at the much-loved charity day out announced!

We last mentioned The Supercar Event, taking place on Father’s Day weekend, at the back end of last year and it’s time we gave you an update in what to expect on the day. The Children’s Trust’s ‘The Supercar Event’,  formerly known as Dad’s Day Out, takes place on Saturday June 15 and Sunday June 16 at Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh, Surrey with doors opening at 9am and closing at 4.30pm on both days. The two-day event – now in its seventh year – offers rides in some of the world’s most famous supercars, as well as a wide range of activities and entertainment across the site.

Club Scuderia and Petrolhead Nirvana join forces to offer the opportunity to ride as a passenger on the famous track in an array of fabulous supercars at the home of BBC’s Top Gear. Visitors will also have an opportunity to go for a spin in Caterham Sevens around a specially designed skidpan circuit as part of the live entertainment.

In addition to the supercar element visitors can book helicopter and hovercraft or fire engine rides and over 500 classic and sports cars will be on static display. Other attractions include rides with The Sporting Bears, and a car simulator experience. Live bands provide the musical entertainment, and there will be a wide range of stands, stalls and refreshments throughout the day. Children (young and old) will be able to enjoy fairground rides, paintball and the chance to experience Segways (remember them?) as well as more leisurely arts and crafts activities.

Tickets are available now, and advanced booking is recommended. Family ticket entry is £25 per day or £40 for the weekend for family of four (children under 16) but you don’t need to worry about that as PHers can take advantage of the car club discounted entry making tickets just £10 per car, per day.  It gets even better if you want a weekend ticket as that's just £15. A car club ticket covers driver and up to three occupants.

The PH car park will be closer to the event than the main car park and will also form part of the display, a sort of Sunday Service but over two days.

Money raised from The Supercar Event will benefit The Children’s Trust, Tadworth, a national charity that provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation to children with an acquired brain injury.

http://www.thesupercarevent.com/index.php/get-invo...

This page lists the criteria for entering via a car club: it looks like there is a link that needs to be supplied to us by PH.

Here is the link to get the Pistonheads discounted tickets:
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/carclubdisplay

These tickets are only for members of Pistonheads.

It allows you to display your car/motorcycle as part of the large static display on Saturday, Sunday or both days. It also allows all passengers in the car/motorcyle free entry to the event throughout the weekend.

Just ordered a car club ticket, does anyone know if we have to park in the specified PH area (I'm just thinking that getting there prior to 8.30 might not be so viable) or can I park with the regular peasants?

Quick question, as I'm not part of the 911 or scooby club etc.. Do we get the discount as we're PistonHeads members?

Sorry if it sounds a little daft.

Thanks

There's a special dispensation for PH'ers, you don't need to arrive by 8.30 to park in the PH section, it's open all day on both days for access.

Not daft at all, yes as long as you're a ph'er you get the discount and the special parking area too.

Tempted to pop up on the 15th - is there a minimum age limit to get in? We have a 6 month old baby (obviously no rides for him)and thought it would be nice to spend some of the day there. Plus it's my birthday too on the 15th biggrin
