Laon Historique 2013, is self entry/booking possible ?
Discussion
Me and the wife fancy having a go at the 2013 Laon Historique but really don't fancy booking it through a tour operator. Does any one know if it's possible to book entry for this event your self. If it is possible, any info or links to where & how would be much appreciated. I've been searching the web for ages and all I find is info about booking this event via continental car tours, we tend to like doing our own thing, booking our own crossing, our own hotel etc, we'll probably even go a few days early and have a mooch around the area before hand.
As I said any Info would be much appreciated
Cheers

Found this thread, maybe PM a couple of the guys who did their own bookings to get the info you need.

Also found this link that had the organiser's web address in it.

Also if I were you I would check out the CCT site to see what hotels they are using and try to get a booking in one of those, at least then you'll be staying with like minded people and when we went a good laugh as well.

I'm doing a group booking for TIPEC, as I understand it all the decent hotels in Laon are booked out. I'd deffo suggesting doing it as a group this is part of the experience. Not sure what you gain by doing your own thing TBH.
It is a fantastic event, we've done it for 3 or 4 years & always enjoyed it.

I've Emailed them about the Laon event and also sent an Email to the peeps that sort the Rallye De Jonquilles to try and get some more detailed info for 2013 but it's been a few days and haven't heard a dickie bird back from them. So if any one on here has done Laon as an individual / independent entry, could let me know if it's just a matter of turning up on the day and paying your dosh or do you need to be prebooked and paid up before arriving, I'd appreciate it. Booking the crossings and B&B's are not a prob just need info on entry to events.
cheers

I believe it has to be pre-booked. cheers
I received this Email back from the Laon event people today and thought it may be of interest to others
Please accept our apologies for the delay in responding, we encounter problems internet these days.
In 2013, the History Tour will take place on 18, 19 & 20 May The theme will be American Cars Ford, and we will honor Carroll Shelby.
Regarding the price, it depends on the participation is for one day (Saturday or Sunday or Monday), or for two days or 3 days. It also varies depending on the year of the car.
Restrictions on, your car must be pre-1984 or prestige if be his year is after 1984. In this second case, the association decided if the car is eligible or not.
then I suggest you send us the details about your car (make, model, year) and we can tell you if it can or not to participate Circuit History .
Our website is currently under construction and we hope to open our new website in the month of November. Registration forms and fees will be available on the new site.
In all cases, an email will inform you of the opening of the new site as well as the availability of forms.
Feel free to contact me for any information,
Sincerely,

I may see you there this year, done it 5 times in the past but not for 3 years now. We book it independently, well a friend of mine does on our behalf. In the good old days we could do it for much less when the euro was weak, but over the years the gap has got closer with CCT prices. But it is still cheaper doing it independently, just be aware most of the big Hotels like the Ibis are block booked out. We stay on the cheap in something like the Formula 1 hotel, but we are not there for a hotel so it suits us, just some where to sleep off the Leffe... I may do it in my mini in 2013, but from memory booking does not open until Feb time? Post up any info you find out please, and if my friend books up I will PM you the details.
To be honest Fury, it's really not a case of the price but more the fact I don't like French hotels very much, much prefer the out of town B&B's, find them much friendlier places to stay whilst touring and they've generally got more character to them.
I've sent them another email asking if my new toys ganna be eligible for the event.
Judging from that email they sent me they'll be emailing me & letting me know when their new websites up & working again, when they do I'll post it up for you and it sounds as if you just download an entry form from the site, hopefully that's all there is to it .

Thanks for posting this info. I was thinking of doing this next year in my 67 Mustang. The theme of American Fords in honour of Carroll Shelby has just made my mind up!- **********************

Well, a few weeks ago I booked for next years event with CCT staying at the Etap Hotel, as that was all that was left if staying in Laon. There will me and a friend in identical 67 Mustang's. Really looking forward to it, but it will be the Mustang's first trip oversea's since the restoration, so I'm sure I'll be a little nervous!
Who else has booked?

Ok finally managed to join this forum and site.
The answer to self booking is Yes.
The entry forms for 2013 are not done yet, I have been in touch with Mathilde this week and she is waiting on the final decisions from the committee then she will send me the french version and as usual I will do the english translations.
As soon as they are done I will upload to one of my sites as well as forwarding back to them for inclusion on their site.
Hope this clarifies it for everyone.

Hi Everyone
OK for anyone interested I have now translated the entry forms and disclaimer for this year.
There is the normal rally on Saturday with a lunchtime stop at Chateau-Thierry in the champagne region, on the Sunday the usual Street circuit parade and on the Monday a rally to Cambrai which for all of us Brits it is on our way home.
There are different types of entries, but basically if you want to do it alone the entry for the 3 events is about 130 euroes however for block bookings of 10 cars or more through a club this can be reduced to about 75 euroes.
I alkready have a certain number of bookings but need a few more to get the reduced rate for the folks that want to go, so if you are interested then please get in touch and we can add you to our club list for the reduced price even though you will be staying elsewhere and not necessarily joining us, the choice is yours of course.
Cheers to all and hopefully see you there in May 17th - 20th May

As its only 4 weeks till the off now, thought I would bump the thread to see who's booked in where. Me and another 67 Mustang are in the Etap. Anyone stopping over in Dover on the Thursday night?
About 20 cars going from TIPEC, a few of the guys staying over in the Days Inn at Maidstone services on Thursday, then we'll all meet at around 7 & off for the ferry which is 09:25, we'll have a 1/2 way stop in Arras which has a massive square in the middle & is lovely with lots of restaurants. If you see any Porsches, particularly an Estoril Blue Boxster J800BOX come & say hello!Gassing Station | Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
