We are off to the Silverstone classic tomorrow morning. Can anyone suggest the best route in to avoid traffic etc (we are coming from Dartford tunnel) - been there only once before years ago and remember going round in circles.

Thanks in advance

Hello?

If you're heading from the M25 - do not go up the M1 - need much more of a drivers road to get there:

Junction 18 M25
Head towards Chorleywood
Then Little Chalfont
Then Amersham
Then Great Missenden (A413)
Then Aylesbury
Then Buckingham
Then Stowe
Then Silverstone

Come back to me with what you think!

Will be doing it in an AC Cobra at circa 10am tomorrow smile

I used to live in Aylesbury and this is the *only* way to go to the circuit. I live in Southampton now but I'll still be driving up to Aylesbury in the morning and doing that route.

I'll be going through a bit earlier though, around 8am ish

Nice motor!

And that route IS the only route to get to Silverstone. Misses out all the crap with added flowing bendy A/B roads.

Too much of a detour that route, more specifically should I stick to the m1 from mk or is the a5 via towcester better?

Thread Revival!

Can someone please confirm if this is still a good route from Dartford tunnel M25 to Silverstone?

Heading to the Silverstone Classic on Saturday and looking for a more exciting drive up there and avoiding the motorway.
