I found this picture of two iconic masterpeices in on old scrap book I kept as a kid. I think it came from a German magazine and as it predates the www this is moment may well be its first time on the electronic super highway smile Anyone recognise is this cool dude, possibly someone from Portman or the importer back then?

... I'll send the image to the oracle and find out!

He looks familiar, somehow but maybe that's just the suit he's wearing which I may once have seen in the window of Oxfam in Chorley...

Don't hold your breath whilst you wait - those oracle-types tend to answer when they feel like it, so the information could be here in the next 2 minutes or possibly in the next 2 years or any point in between...

Great image to finally reach the interwebworldzone - well done on posting it!

From memory, he was BA Concorde captain and happened to own that car. I think I have a related article somewhere...

Really? I might have subsequently met him without realising it. The carpark at Cranebank always did have some tasty metal but nothing that tasty as far as I remember. In those days Concorde flight crew were on about £130k pa for 4 round trips a month...

This picture has been burned in my memory since I was a boy, I said to myself I’d always return to this thread once I found out who it was....I’m sure it’s Fred Finn. After years of drawing a blank, a random comment on an Instagram picture nailed it.
