"It is the last of the F1 Ferraris that can be used without a laptop and a small army of engineers. We can supply a disc showing F310 s/n 168 being started, brought up to operating temperature and run through the gears without any complications"
how hard would it to be to get road legal?
are there any F1 cars which have been converted?

I think you'll find it would be a litle bit difficult and also a little bit rubbish on a public road."It is the last of the F1 Ferraris that can be used without a laptop and a small army of engineers. Didn't some mad Japanese businessman manage to get an ex-F1 car road legal? Seem to remember seeing it on one of Clarkson's motorworld programmes or similar.
(The headlights looked a bit rubbish though)
It wasn't an F1 car.(The headlights looked a bit rubbish though)
It was a Japanese equivalent of an F3000 car and was made road legal by a man called Go Ishikawa. He customised cars (making Minis even smaller, fettling with Testarossas, Rollers etc). It was on Top Gear in 1996 when they featured the Nissan Skyline R33 GTR V-spec. It also featured the Marquess of Blandford too who owned the Skyline.
I only know this because I'm very very sad and it was the very first Top Gear I ever recorded and must have watched 100 + times.

He painted it yellow and Andy Wilman tested it. He also couldnt put the Reynard(?) engine in there either and had to use a 180bhp engine instead. Not sure if it was from a Jap manufacturer or a specialist engine though.
Unfortunately Dave don't show classic Top Gear episodes. Infact, their collection is very poor and I must have seen each episode they have at least 3-4 times. It's time they bought some more episodes IMO. The same stuff is boring as are the 2002-2003 Fifth Gear episodes they keep repeating as well.
Youtube seems pretty thin on the ground on classic/old Top Gear episodes too, unfortunately.
