autobodytechnic v's autotechnic - any help?
Discussion
Evening all,
wonder if any of you know the two firms mentioned above - I know the first one is in Langley, and the other was in Slough Trading Estate up until last year (Anyone know where they moved to?)
I've read a few old posts mentioning bodyshops in Slough, but am a little confused as their names are so similar, so it's difficult to know exactly who's being discussed.
Please let me know which is best for what, who is most reasonable, etc etc. Any info and opinions would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
Dav.

This was mentioned on a Masser forum a short while back. One is a top class establishment while the other has a similar name to confuse people into using them. You need to take care that you don't get mixed up from what was said on the other forum.wonder if any of you know the two firms mentioned above - I know the first one is in Langley, and the other was in Slough Trading Estate up until last year (Anyone know where they moved to?)

Bodytechnics in Slough Trading Estate 01753 567220 are a Ferrari and Porsche APPROVED bodyshop. They did the stonechip respray on my 355 3 years ago. Their work is excellent, but APPEARS expensive....because they remove surrounding parts rather than mask them, thus avoiding overspray...but taking considerably more time than masking.
They also did Albert's F40 which I understand he's also delighted with.
I have no experience of the other company mentioned, but I don't believe they are Ferrari approved, although their work could well be up to the same standard!
I have no connection with Bodytechnics apart from being a very satisfied customer!

Reality is that removing bits will take no more than a couple of hours and masking can actually take longer for some parts!! Any reasonable quality bodyshop will always remove rather than mask- the real expense comes when there are bonded windows that need removal to do the job properly (like the rear quarter window of a Porsche 996)...They also did Albert's F40 which I understand he's also delighted with.

Just had a guided tour of the huge Body Technic workshop in Slough Trading Estate. Wow.
They even had an Enzo in there, stripped of all panels, half way through a colour change. Again, wow.
Looks like the best bet, from my research, for bodywork in the Slough area is either Body Technic (Slough Trading Estate) or Autobody Technik (Langley - St Mary's Trading Estate).
Opinions on either of these??

And what actually was said? Surprised no one has asked this? I've used both firms for full glass out resprays on two met black Porsches. Both were average or worse.
If you come across Bob who's posted above in Langley. https://autobodytechnic.com
Worth a google review
repair bill from OPC Reading to repair the work Bobs firm carried out on my work
