I'm interested to find out how many 348s were made by variant and what the split was between RHD and LHD.

According to Lehbrinks book 8745 348s were made. The models listed are as follows:-

GTB (I assume these are the same as those badged tb?)
GTS (I assume these are the same as those badged ts?)
Spider

There was also the extra 20hp versions and i'd be interested to know how many of those were made by variant as well.

Hope you can help guys.

GTS/GTB not the same as TS/TB, GTS etc had 20bhp more, more developed suspension, brakes etc (just from memory) the GTS was a much better drive than any ts I drove when I was looking.

Thanks Angelis. Do you know how many UK Spiders came in the country? Also were there 300hp and 320hp versions of the Spider?

Nope, the Spiders were only the later spec chassis and engine, 320bhp.

69 came into the UK RHD of which 11 were yellow although one has been wrecked so only 10 yellow now!

I would guess at about 40 red, 5-10 in black and the rest in other assorted colours such as silver and blue.

Actually, they are perfectly powered in direct proportion to the average 348 driver's weight, whereas the Testarossas need more power ......

Yes, thanks for all the replies. Just to let you know the reason for my asking is i'm considering making my first Fezza purchase and I think the 348 will be my choice. I actually love the looks of the car, definately better than the 355. So do I go for a GTS, GTB, or Spider?

I only looked at B's cos I like things to be as stiff and leak-proof as possible..(fnar fnar..) Others could not do without the open-top experience - personal taste and all that.

I think the question is more "which one can I find and is it a good one"

you don't find many GTBs, though you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a decent TB.

The Spiders are great, but I have had my fill of soft tops, and they are noiser with the roof UP than down! They do look gorgeous though.

If performance is essential, then get the later models, if "pretty fast" is ok, then get an earlier one for a lot less money. You can always chip.

But remember - service history is king - and it doesn't need to be main dealer. Recognised independents are frequently better.
