Just in the process of buying a Roma and being offered a Paint maintenance plan, now bear in mind that my insurers won't cover a car with ppf this is the deal offered.
£2400 for 3 years ,up to ten repairs per year and a pro rate refund for any unused years. This service provides full ferrari paint repairs for things like stone chips etc ,so stone chip on bonnet gets full respray not just a touch up.

Has anyone got this ? Thoughts ?

Sounds too good to be true if you can have the bonnet resprayed ten times a year for an annual cost of £800.

Could you clarify what you mean by your insurers won’t cover a car with PPF?

There have been a lot of posts about that in the SP&L section. For many insurers :

PPF = wrap - we won't insure wrapped cars

There are even stories of insurers refusing to pay when they found PPF on a crashed car

There's a good chance you'll get stone chips within 3 years BUT who is actually behind the plan & will they be around to honour it when you need them ? I'm sure the dealer is also trying to sell you tyre insurance and a protective coating for the interior etc etc etc

It’s from Ferrari dealer , not sure if it’s Ferrari or Sytner offering the plan , no tyre insurance offered but they have offered a good deal on ceramic coating .

I’m not sure what the SP and L section is but I’ve never had e reputable insurer even ask whether my cars have PPF, which they all do.

Speed, plod and the law.

According to several posts on that, the fact that they didn't ask you doesn't mean they are covering it.

I would be asking that question then. Just because you don't check it doesn't mean you will be covered.
Admiral who insure a hell of a lot of performance cars would need it declaring, I've had that conversation with them online and got proof.

They will be making money in this, as with all of this type of plan. Ask yourself why.

100% that.

I doubt they'd even respray a bonnet once a year for £800.

Toyota offered me a similar plan when I purchased my GR Yaris 2 years ago. Upon closer examination of the T&C's, any damage to the paint had to be of a minimum size/area otherwise it was not covered.

I had a look at SP and L and while there are some fascinating topics such as how do you report a very dirty bus, I couldn’t see anything about PPF and insurance.
Anyway, I would expect that a significant percentage of the posters on this forum who own a supercar have some or complete PPF on their car(s) and if there was a significant problem with insurance I’m sure we would have heard.
Wrapping is a different matter as some insurers might feel that this would reveal something about the driver.

Quite.

If you want to assume your insurers cover PPF that's up to you. I'm sure plenty do - but there is also fairly strong evidence that plenty don't - and some people have only found that out when they made a claim.

Yes - PPF is different to wrap. But not to some insurers.

Yep , they didn’t advise me of this at renewal ,I only found out as I sold a car and bought a new one and they asked does it have ppf or a wrap ?
