For lots of insights and anecdotes, and a sense of what Gandini the person was like, Davide Cironi's YouTube interviews are a great resource.

Hi Nigel ,
Absolutely will do .
I’ve been trying to contact you for years now …I got in touch with your ex -company secretary from Malvern a few years ago but the trail then went dry .

Likewise - would be nice to see a pistonheads 'special feature' celebrating his incredible work..... hello pistonheads team....

Gandini designs - a key factor in sparking my interest as a teen in cars, and why I still get inspired by great design (when it appears on new cars - rarely but thankfully does) and when enjoying a walk around classic car shows/gatherings

Brilliant , thanks for posting .

Remember seeing that ad in period , all the special to me as i use the own one of those BX's back in the day.

Amazing how young Marcello was in the ad ,especially compared to when Iain Tyrrell interviewed him a year or two

back when they drove the Italian Job's original Miura in the Italian Alpes on one of his video's.

Tks for that. I remember it from back in the day. A time when car ads had some intelligence.

It's quite surprising that he agreed to do the ad, given that he kept such low profile. Albeit only a couple of fairly fleeting glimpses.

I guess the fact that he avoided the limelight means that not many people know of him, hence not much fuss being made.

I agree that it's poor there hasn't been a PH article on someone who could claim to be the most influential car designer of the modern era.
