Does this still happen in ferrari showrooms?

2005 I was bored. I walked into a Porsche dealership shabbily dressed just to have a look.
The beautifully dressed lady treated me like a gent and let me sit in a few cars. Then a salesman treated me like and old friend and by the end of the afternoon I had ordered a brand new 987.
Had no intention of buying a car that day

This guy is a total fantasist. He just wastes peoples time pretending to buy things as a "multimillionaire"
Everything he ever says or does is a total lie, which is quite sad for a 40 odd year old man. 95% of his story is made up.
I believe they just went there to take those pics.
This. What a strange article.Everything he ever says or does is a total lie, which is quite sad for a 40 odd year old man. 95% of his story is made up.

Though, once, I was ignored in a VW garage for 15 minutes. They obviously didn't realise how important I think I am.

Maybe that’s why the showroom pretended he was invisible Everything he ever says or does is a total lie, which is quite sad for a 40 odd year old man. 95% of his story is made up.

The article forgot to say that was his 11th trip to the show room that week
Same dealer I buy my Ferraris from. Nothing could be further from the truth in my personal experience. They don't hassle you with pushy Sales people like you get in more mundane dealers but are always more than helpful when you show interest in a particular car.
Personally I prefer to be left alone whilst doing my initial quick appraisals of various cars and only want a Sales person involved after I've spotted a car I have an interest in. I hate to be fawned over but I guess this guy feels otherwise.

I was in there a couple of weeks back after they'd plastered pics of the Purosangue over their Insta that morning.
That afternoon there was no ugly 4x4 in the showroom, nobody at the host desk and nobody on the ground floor, save someone already chatting with a customer (who was in work gear at the time).
It's a non-story as far as I'm concerned. They don't seem to discriminate based on your attire, it's just they're as understaffed as your average Weatherspoon bar.
The Porsche dealership may only be across the car park, but they're light years away from the Ferrari garage in terms of customer service and making you feel valued.

The recycling centre in Exeter is near a lot of Prestige car dealers.
We took the old banger to the tip and then went into the Aston Martin dealership one we saturday. The barely gave us time of day and were quite offhand. Then we went to Carrs, got a coffee, told to have a look and come back with any questions, and the offered a test drive the following weekend. We didn't buy from them in the end, but the test drive meant we ended up with a Maserati and they got 5 figures out of us in service bills over the next few years.

I dropped into the AM dealer (no longer there) one saturday morning, dressed in scruffs & driving my 172. Ended up taking a V8V out. Popped over the road & took a 997 out, then on to Maser for a 4200 test drive - all from walk ins with no prior contact.
Ended up buying a 996 elsewhere but was impressed by all three dealers.
My mate was declined a test drive in a Ferrari, he’s now on his 2nd AM.

Is there any publicity seeker left in the UK who isn't a self-styled "multimillionaire"?
The guy is so full of st, I don't believe he really bought a Ferrari 14 years ago or whatever, I don't believe he was Michael Jackson's bodyguard let alone friend and I sure as hell don't believe a single one of his business fairy tales. He reminds me of my school friend who insisted his granddad had invented flying crisps. He was 6.
I'm quite well acquainted with his industry and he's been a well known bullstter for 20 years, long before he tried to become some motivational whatever it is he's doing now.
